Fußball-Oberliga
The Oberliga (, "Upper League"; plural: ''Oberligen'') is the fifth tier of the German football league system. Before the introduction of the 3. Liga in 2008, it was the fourth tier. At the end of the 2011–12 season the number of Oberligas was increased from eleven to fourteen. With the exception of the Nazi-era ''Gauliga'', the term ''Oberliga'' (equivalent to ''Premier League'' in English) was used prior to the formation of the Bundesliga in 1963 for first-division leagues in Germany. Between 1978–94 the term ''Amateuroberliga'' was used for third-tier leagues, which were then the highest level of amateur play in the country. The current usage of the designation Oberliga was introduced in 1994. Spielvereinigung Greuther Fürth (), commonly known as Greuther Fürth (), is a German football club based in Fürth, Bavaria. They play in the 2. Bundesliga, the second tier of the German football league system, following relegation from the Bundesliga in the 2021–22 season. Founded in 1903, the most successful era for Greuther Fürth came in the pre-Bundesliga era in the 1910s and 1920s, when the club won three German championships in 1914, 1926, and 1929 respectively and finished as runners-up in 1920. 1949–50 Oberliga
The 1949–50 Oberliga was the fifth season of the Oberliga, the first tier of the football league system in West Germany. The league operated in six regional divisions, Berlin, North, South, Southwest (north and south) and West. The five league champions and runners-up as well as the third and fourth placed teams in the West and South and the third placed team in the Southwest and North entered the 1950 German football championship which was won by VfB Stuttgart. It was VfB Stuttgart's first-ever national championship. The 1949–50 season was the last with clubs from East Berlin in the Oberliga, with VfB Pankow and Union Oberschöneweide leaving the league at the end of the season, thereby ending unified German league football for the next four decades. Offenbacher Kickers, also known as Kickers Offenbach, is a German association football club in Offenbach am Main, Hesse. The club was founded on 27 May 1901 in the Rheinischer Hof restaurant by footballers who had left established local clubs including ''Melitia'', ''Teutonia'', ''Viktoria'', ''Germania'' and ''Neptun''. From 1921 to 1925 they were united with ''VfB 1900 Offenbach'' as ''VfR Kickers Offenbach'' until resuming their status as a separate side, ''Offenbacher FC Kickers''. The 1948–49 Oberliga was the fourth season of the Oberliga, the first tier of the football league system in the three western zones of Allied-occupied Germany. The league operated in six regional divisions, Berlin, North, South, Southwest (north and south) and West. The five league champions, the runners-up from the North, South, Southwest and West and the third-placed team from the South entered the 1949 German football championship which was won by VfR Mannheim. It was VfR Mannheim's only national championship. The Oberliga Südwest, covering the French occupation zone in Germany, operated in two regional divisions, north and south, with a championship final at the end of season. Tennis Borussia Berlin is a German football club based in the locality of Westend in Berlin. History The team was founded in 1902 as ''Berliner Tennis- und Ping-Pong-Gesellschaft Borussia'' taking its name from its origins as a tennis and table tennis club. Borussia is a Latinised version of Prussia and was a widely used name for sports clubs in the former state of Prussia. The 1946–47 Oberliga was the second season of the Oberliga, the first tier of the football league system in Allied-occupied Germany. The league operated in four regional divisions, Berlin, South and Southwest (north and south). For the third consecutive season no German championship was held but the competition would resume the following year with 1. FC Nürnberg taking out the first post-war championship. In the British and Soviet occupation zone no Oberligas were organised. In the former the Oberliga Nord and Oberliga West commenced play in the following season while, in the Soviet zone, the DDR-Oberliga was organised from 1949 onwards.
