Fuxingmen Inner Street
Fuxingmen Inner Street () is a major street in urban Beijing. It forms part of the extended Chang'an Avenue. It starts at Fuxingmen Bridge in the west, finishing at West Chang'an Avenue in the east. The Xidan commercial area is in the neighbourhood of the street, flanked by other more modern buildings, such as the Beijing Times Square. The impressive building of the Bank of China also sits on this street, together with the People's Bank of China. Fuxingmen
Fuxingmen () is the name of a gate that used to be a part of Beijing's old city wall. It is also the name of a road situated in central Beijing and on the northwestern stretch of the 2nd Ring Road. Origin Fuxingmen means "Gate of Revival". An overpass over the ring road exists with the same name. Beijing subway lines 1 and 2 have an interchange stop at Fuxingmen Station. Several public buses serve the area as well. The commercial centres of Xidan and Beijing Financial Street are not far away. West Chang'an Avenue () is a major avenue in urban Beijing. It forms part of the extended Chang'an Avenue. Location It stretches from the intersection with Xidan in the west until Tian'anmen Square in the east. The Beijing Books Building and CAAC building all sit along the avenue. Some of the narrowest parts of Chang'an Avenue are immediately before and after Zhongnanhai. The southernmost entrance, Xinhuamen, is right on the avenue. The avenue finishes off close to the Great Hall of the People. Xidan
Xidan (Chinese: 西 单; Pinyin: Xīdān) is a major traditional commercial area in Beijing, China. It is located in the Xicheng District. The Xidan commercial district incorporates the Xidan Culture Square, North Xidan Street, as well as many supermarkets and department stores. The Xidan Cultural Square is the largest venue for cultural events with shopping nearby in downtown Beijing. Area Xidan occupies around 80 hectares (197.7 Acres) within the Xicheng District. Name The name Xidan (literally, "West Single") came from the paifang that existed on one of the streets there.
