''Fureytha'' (lit: ''Demon'') is a 2024 Maldivian revenge thriller action film directed by Ali Shifau. Produced by Mohamed Ali and Aishath Fuad Thaufeeq under Dark Rain Entertainment, the film stars Sharaf Abdulla, Ravee Farooq, Mohamed Manik and Ahmed Saeed in pivotal roles. The film was released on 4 March 2024. Premise The film unfolds a compelling narrative set against the backdrop of societal decay in Male' City. The story follows an ordinary man whose life takes a tumultuous turn when he becomes inadvertently involved in a gang-related murder. As he navigates through the gritty streets and moral complexities, viewers are drawn into a gripping tale of survival and self-discovery amidst a landscape fraught with violence and injustice. Sharaf Abdulla
Sharafudheen Abdulla (born 4 August 1991), commonly known as Sharaf Abdulla, is a Maldivian film actor. Career After completing his education in his homeland, R. Meedhoo, Abdulla relocated to Male' in 2010, in search of a job opportunity. After working at several jobs, he joined a local television channel VTV, where he featured in a drama series developed by VTV. His talent was noticed by director Ilyas Waheed, who offered him to play a significant role for his upcoming venture. Abdulla's first project was Waheed's crime thriller ''Nina'', where he was roped in to play the lead role against Nuzuhath Shuaib. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the release of the film got delayed indefinitely making the path for his other releases. Adam Rizwee
Adam Rizwee is a Maldivian film actor. Career In 2014, Rizwee made his film debut in the Aishath Fuad Thaufeeg directed art film Hulhudhaan in a minor role. In 2015 he was cast in Ali Shifau-directed romantic film '' Emme Fahu Vindha Jehendhen'' as a doctor, alongside Mohamed Jumayyil and Mariyam Majudha. Mohamed Vishal (born 9 May 1997) is a Maldivian actor. Early life Vishal was born on 9 May 1997 in L.Gan. Ali Shifau
Ali Shifau (born 19 May 1977) is a Maldivian film director, cinematographer and editor. One of the most successful filmmakers in Maldivian Cinema, Shifau is the recipient of a number of awards, including seven Gaumee Film Awards, and four Maldives Film Awards. In 2018, the Government of Maldives honoured him with the National Award of Recognition. Ravee Farooq
Ravee Farooq is a Maldivian actor, director, editor and choreographer. Career Farooq made his film debut with Abdul Faththaah-directed romantic disaster film, '' Hureemey Inthizaarugaa'' (2005) cast along with Mariyam Zuhura, Waleedha Waleed, Ibrahim Jihad and Neena Saleem. The film, heavily relied on the effect of the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake on the Maldives, received favorable reviews from critics though it failed to perform financially. Ahmed Saeed is a Maldivian film actor and director. Career 1997–2010: Debut and early releases On 13 June 1997, Saeed made his screen debut in a video single alongside Hassan Afeef and Mariyam Nisha. Afterwards, he played a role in Yoosuf Rafeeu's ''Dhiriulhumakee Mieebaa?''.
