Fundão () is a municipality in Espírito Santo, south eastern Brazil. Its population was 21,948 (2020) and its area is 280 km². History This municipality was created on the 5 July 1923. It was created from part of Nova Almeida municipality, which today is no longer a municipality but a town (''distrito'' in Portuguese) of Serra municipality. Location Situated about 57 km from the state capital Vitória. Bordering municipalities include: Aracruz and Ibiraçu (N), Santa Teresa and Santa Leopoldina (W), Serra, Espírito Santo (S) and the Atlantic Ocean (E). The coastline of the municipality is protected by the Costa das Algas Environmental Protection Area, created in 2010. Espírito Santo
Espírito Santo (, , ; ) is a state in southeastern Brazil. Its capital is Vitória, and its largest city is Serra. With an extensive coastline, the state hosts some of the country's main ports, and its beaches are significant tourist attractions. Serra is a Municipalities of Brazil, municipality in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Bordering the north of the state's capital, Vitória, Brazil, Vitória, the municipality is part of the Greater Vitória metropolitan area. Its population was 527,240 (2020) and its area is 548 km. Santa Leopoldina, Espírito Santo
Santa Leopoldina is a municipality in central Espírito Santo, Brazil. Its population was 12,885 (2015) and its area is 718.1 km².IBGE /ref> It is 16 meters above sea level, and is located 44 km from the state capital of Vitória, Brazil, Vitória. History Santa Leopoldina was founded in 1856 by around 60 Swiss immigrants who came up the Santa Maria River, closely followed in 1857 by roughly 200 immigrants from Germany and Luxembourg. Ibiraçu is the name of a municipality in the state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. It covers , and has a population of 12,591 with a population density of 66 inhabitants per square kilometer. 73% of the population resides in urban areas and 27% in rural areas. Aracruz is a municipality at the central coast of Espírito Santo, Brazil. Location Aracruz covers , and has a population of 103,101 with a population density of 66 inhabitants per square kilometer. Nova Almeida is a neighbourhood (''bairro'' in Portuguese) in the municipality of Serra, in the State of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The town is located about north of the state capital, Vitória. It has a population of around 266,800. History Nova Almeida was founded in 1556 by Jesuit priests who wanted to spread the Christian faith amongst native Amerindians.
