The Fundação Nacional de Artes (National Arts Foundation), Funarte is a foundation of the Brazilian government linked to the Ministry of Culture (Brazil), Ministry of Culture. It operates throughout the national territory and is the agency responsible for developing public policies to foster the visual arts, music, dance, Theatre, theater, and circus. Overview It aims to encourage the training of artists, technicians and producers; the production, practice, development and dissemination of the arts; the development of research; the preservation of memory, and the formation of audiences for the arts in Brazil. Ministry Of Culture (Brazil)
The Ministry of Culture of Brazil (Portuguese: Ministério da Cultura, MinC) is a cabinet-level federal ministry created in 1985, in the first month of president's José Sarney government, dissolved by Jair Bolsonaro in 2019 and reinstated by Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in 2023. Dissolution and reinstatement In April 1990, it was dissolved by president Fernando Collor de Mello and transformed into a Culture Secretary, directly linked to the presidency. This situation was reverted two years later, but, in the meantime, in 1991, the law called popularly ''Lei Rouanet'' was created by the secretary of Culture, Sérgio Paulo Rouanet. It is a law that allows companies and individuals to sponsor cultural products, up to respectively 4% and 6% of their income tax. The creation of art in the geographic area now known as Brazil begins with the earliest records of its human habitation. The original inhabitants of the land, pre-Columbian Indigenous or Natives peoples, produced various forms of art; specific cultures like the Marajoara left sophisticated painted pottery. This area was colonized by Portugal in the 16th century and given the modern name of Brazil. Stepan Nercessian
Stepan Nercessian (born 2 December 1953) is a Brazilian actor and politician of Armenian descent. Nercessian was born in Cristalina, Goiás; his career began in the late 1960s, in the film ''Marcelo Zona Sul''. He also acted on stage and television, having worked for Rede Globo from 1971 to 2018.
