Fun Radio (France)
Fun Radio is a French network of FM radio stations created on 2 October 1985 and offering electropop, dance and eurodance music operating on 250 different frequencies in France. The station belongs to RTL Group as do its sister stations RTL and RTL2. These three radio stations share the same headquarters located in Neuilly-sur-Seine. As of November 2006, the station had approximately 3.2 million daily listeners. History 1985-1988: Secession of NRJ Fun Radio was created on October 2, 1985, in the south of France under the name FUN by Éric Péchadre, Pierre Lattès and Jean-Baptiste Blanchemain, who controlled six local NRJ franchise stations belonging to them (Nancy, Grenoble, Montpellier, Bordeaux, Carcassonne and Toulouse) and a Chic FM station (Nice) directed by Françoise Martin, director of antenna and programs within the company Cofirad SA. Neuilly-sur-Seine (; literally 'Neuilly on Seine'), also known simply as Neuilly, is a commune in the department of Hauts-de-Seine in France, just west of Paris. Euro-Dance (sometimes referred to as Euro-NRG, Euro-electronica or Euro) is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in the late 1980s in Europe. David Paparusso (), better known by his stage name David Vendetta (born 25 August 1968 in Longwy), is a French dance producer and DJ. Biography David Vendetta's career as a professional DJ only starts in 2002. At that time, he meets Antoine Clamaran, another popular French DJ, who produces Vendetta's first three maxi singles "Fiction – No Sex", "She Loves Me – Party People" and "Alicante – Cleopatra". He also starts working as a producer when American DJ Roger Sanchez asks him to remix some of his songs. Antoine Clamaran-Danzelle (; born 8 November 1964) is a French house music producer, DJ and remixer. Clamaran was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine. In the early 1990s, his local fame interested Maximum FM, the leading parisian dance radio station at that time. Impressed by his mixing gift, Clamaran gained a huge audience and started to be booked for one off parties. But Palace headquarters asked him to run the mythical Gay Tea Dance every Sunday, instead of French icon Laurent Garnier. Club 40 is a French weekly music chart that reflects spinning of tunes in French clubs. It was established by Yacast France Institute in collaboration with Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique (SNEP) in response to the need of music label producers and publishing houses to test the commercial viability of certain dance releases. Most electronic music is propagated initially through limited music releases and promoted through various clubs. In case a certain title gets notoriety on the dance floor of such clubs, a bigger label can take on and promote it on a bigger scale in general charts. Chérie FM
Chérie FM is a French radio station created in 1987 and belongs to the NRJ Group. History Chérie FM is created in 1987 in Paris by Jean-Paul Baudecroux on the then defunct frequency of Gilda la Radiopolitaine. Chérie FM then started broadcasting nationally in 1989 when the NRJ Group acquires the frequencies of Pacific FM. Most frequencies of the station were affiliated to Chérie FM (but the Parisian frequency of Pacific FM was used to create Rire & Chansons). Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns.
