Critical reception ''Trouser Press'' wrote that "Lotion’s songwriting isn’t yet strong enough to connect the dots of he album'seclectic canvas, and onyZajkowski lacks the vocal presence to hold the pieces together. Lotion (band)
Lotion was an American, Manhattan-based indie rock band, formed in 1991 by brothers Bill and Jim Ferguson (bass guitar and guitar respectively), drummer Rob Youngberg, and vocalist/guitarist Tony Zajkowski. Career Lotion formed in New York City's East Village and released two seven-inch singles "Head" and "Tear" on Kokopop before releasing their debut album, '' full Isaac'', through spinArt Records in 1994. To promote the release of ''full Isaac'', Lotion toured America and Europe with Pavement, Throwing Muses, and Mercury Rev. In 1995, the band released a self-titled EP on Big Cat Records, with a second EP, '' The Agnew Funeral E.P.'', recorded the next year. In 1996, Lotion released their second album, '' Nobody's Cool'', with liner notes by Thomas Pynchon. The Love Boat
''The Love Boat'' is an American romantic comedy/drama television series that aired on ABC from 1977 to 1986; in addition, four three-hour specials aired in 1986, 1987, and 1990. The series was set on the luxury passenger cruise ship MS ''Pacific Princess'', and revolved around the ship's captain Merrill Stubing (played by Gavin MacLeod) and a handful of his crew, with passengers played by guest actors for each episode, having romantic and humorous adventures. The ship's regular ports of call were Puerto Vallarta, Acapulco and Mazatlán. The series was part of ABC's popular Saturday-night lineup of the time, which also included ''Fantasy Island'' until 1984. Babe The Blue Ox (band)
Babe the Blue OX (BOX) are an American, Brooklyn-based rock band. Formed in 1991, the trio was initially composed of Tim Thomas (guitar, vocals), Rose Thomson (bass, vocals) and Hanna Fox (drums, vocals). in 1995, the band contributed the song "Hazmats" to the AIDS benefit album '' Red Hot + Bothered'' produced by the Red Hot Organization. Fox's husband Eddie Gormley was formally added as 2nd drummer in 1998, and the band continues to play a handful of shows a year. In 2010, they were a headline act at the Cincinnati Mid-Point Music Festival. The group's music touches on various styles, but always emphasizes melodic if quirky songwriting. Rasputina is an American rock band based in New York City, known for their unconventional music style, as well as their fascination with historical allegories and fashion, especially those pertaining to the Victorian era. The group is fronted by cellist/vocalist Melora Creager, who writes the music and lyrics and creates art for the band's albums, singles, and website. History In 1989, Creager wrote a manifesto, and placed an ad in The Village Voice seeking women to form an electric cello choir. Julia Kent, then an editor at the Village Voice, was the first respondent. The original group of nine was whittled to three. They named themselves "Rasputina", after one of Creager's songs.
