Full House (film)
''Full House'' (French: ''Brelan d'as'') is a 1952 French mystery crime film directed by Henri Verneuil and starring Michel Simon, Raymond Rouleau, John Van Dreelen, Arlette Merry and Nathalie Nattier. Oscherwitz & Higgins p.385 It consists of three separate episodes, each featuring a popular detective character: Jules Maigret, Monsieur Wens and Lemmy Caution. It was shot at the Photosonor Studios in Paris and on location in the city and around Hamburg. The film's sets were designed by the art director René Moulaert. Henri Verneuil
Henri Verneuil (; born Ashot Malakian; 15 October 1920 – 11 January 2002) was a French-Armenian playwright and filmmaker, who made a successful career in France. He was nominated for Oscar and Palme d'Or awards, and won Locarno International Film Festival, Edgar Allan Poe Awards, French Legion of Honor, Golden Globe Award, French National Academy of Cinema and Honorary Cesar awards. According to one obituary: For exactly 40 years, the prolific Verneuil made movies as mainstream and commercial as any to be found in America or Britain. In his best period – the 1950s and 1960s – he delivered films in the "tradition of quality" so despised by the Nouvelle Vague. Arlette Merry (18 March 1918 – 19 February 2015) was a French actress and singer. She was the daughter of Lucien Pinoteau and the sister of Claude Pinoteau Claude Pinoteau (25 May 1925 – 5 October 2012) was a French film director and scriptwriter. Lemmy Caution is a fictional character created by British writer Peter Cheyney (1896–1951). Caution was first portrayed as a Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) agent, and in later stories as a private detective. Cheyney's first book with the character was published in 1936. When ''This Man Is Dangerous'' was released, Cheyney was working as a policeman, but the novel's success enabled him to become a professional author. Cheyney wrote eleven Lemmy Caution novels between 1936 and 1946. The Lemmy Caution radio series was broadcast in the 1940s in Australia and New Zealand. Although Caution is an American character created by a British writer, he has yet to appear in an English-language film. However, he has appeared in around 15 European films, most of them French, from 1952 to 1991.
