Pete Fromm
Pete Fromm (born September 29, 1958) is an American novelist, short story writer, and memoir writer. Biography Fromm was born in Shorewood, Wisconsin, and holds a B.S. in wildlife biology from the University of Montana where he graduated with honors in 1981. A five-time winner of the Pacific Northwest Booksellers Literary Award, he is the author of five short story collections, five novels, and two memoirs. In 2007 he wrote the screenplay for the short film DRY RAIN (CHINOOK in France), based on his story of the same name, and in 2013 the film of his novel, AS COOL AS I AM (LUCY IN THE SKY), was released, starring Claire Danes, James Marsden, and Sarah Bolger. Mount Fromme
Mount Fromme is one of the North Shore Mountains that overlook Burrard Inlet north of Vancouver, British Columbia. It stands just east of Grouse Mountain, and the District of North Vancouver and the City of North Vancouver lie on its lower slope where it descends to the inlet. Mount Fromme, like the other mountains of the Pacific Ranges, is covered with temperate rainforest of the Coastal Western Hemlock Zone. In the case of Mount Fromme this is largely secondary forest, since the mountain was extensively logged in the early 20th century. Outside of the Vancouver area Mount Fromme is known as a mountain biking destination. Origin of the Name Mount Fromme is named after J. M. Fromme (ca. 1858-1941), the "Father of Lynn Valley," a lumber camp foreman who built the first house in Lynn Valley, which drains the eastern slope of the mountain. ''Ethan Frome'' is a 1911 book by American author Edith Wharton. It is set in the fictitious town of Starkfield, Massachusetts. The novel has been adapted into a '' film of the same name''. Plot The novel is a framed narrative. The framing story concerns an unnamed male narrator spending a winter in Starkfield while in the area on business. He spots a limping, quiet man around the village, who is somehow compelling in his demeanor and carriage. This is Ethan Frome, who is a lifelong resident and a local fixture of the community. Lynette Alice "Squeaky" Fromme (born October 22, 1948) is an American criminal who was a member of the Manson family, a cult led by Charles Manson. Though not involved in the Tate–LaBianca murders for which the Manson family is best known, she attempted to assassinate President Gerald Ford in 1975. For that crime, she was sentenced to life in prison. She was paroled from prison on August 14, 2009, after serving approximately 34 years. She published a book about her life in 2018. Paul Fromm (September 28, 1906 – July 4, 1987) was a Jewish Chicago wine merchant and performing arts patron through the Fromm Music Foundation. The ''Organum for Paul Fromm'' was composed by John Harbison in his honor.
