Froilan C. Baguion (born March 7, 1980) is a Filipino former professional basketball player . He was signed by Welcoat of the Philippine Basketball Association in 2006 after not being drafted in the 2006 PBA draft. College career Baguion was a varsity team player for the National University (NU) Bulldogs. During his stay at NU, he is a part of the team that went to their first UAAP Final Four in 2001 (a feat that won't be replicated until 2012), and a championship in the preseason Father Martin Cup in 2003. After the 2004 UAAP season, Baguion signed for the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Draft. Professional career Welcoat Dragons/Rain or Shine Elasto Painters Baguion went undrafted in the 2005 PBA Draft, but was signed from the waiver wires by the Welcoat Dragons. San Miguel Beermen (ABL)
The San Miguel Beermen was a professional basketball team that played in the ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) from 2012 to 2013. The team was from the Philippines and owned by San Miguel Corporation (SMC). This franchise was separate and distinct from the original Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) franchise which played as the "Petron Blaze Boosters" when this team was active. The Beermen played most of their home games at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig but also played some of their games in the Olivarez College Gym, Ynares Center, and PhilSports Arena. Navotas, officially the City of Navotas ( fil, Lungsod ng Navotas), is a 1st class highly urbanized city in the National Capital Region of the Philippines. The University Athletic Association of the Philippines Season 75 basketball tournaments are the basketball events of UAAP's 2012-13 season. National University is the host this season. The opening ceremony was held on July 14, 2012, followed by doubleheader basketball games after the ceremonies at the Mall of Asia Arena. The UAAP named former San Beda Red Cubs head coach Ato Badolato as commissioner for basketball. Badolato also served as basketball commissioner for UAAP Season 73. Father Martin Cup
The Father Edgar Martin Basketball Invitational Tournament, better known as the Fr. Martin Cup, is a pre-season collegiate basketball tournament in the Philippines. It gathers teams from various collegiate leagues, including the UAAP and NCAA, in a basketball tournament just before the start of the collegiate season. It was named after Fr. Edgar Martin, S.J., the former athletic moderator at the Ateneo de Manila University, and former Secretary-General of the Basketball Association of the Philippines. The tournament was established in 1994. Tournament format Its format consists of dividing the teams into 2 groups featuring single round robin elimination games among teams of the same group to determine the playoff teams.
