Chang Thailand Slammers
The Hi-Tech Bangkok City, formerly known as the Thailand Tigers, Chang Thailand Slammers, and the Sports Rev Thailand Slammers is a professional basketball team, based in Bangkok, Thailand, that played in the Asean Basketball League until the 2015–16 ABL season. Currently they play in the Thailand Basketball League (TBL). Hi-Tech Bangkok City play its home games at the Thai-Japanese Stadium in Bangkok. The ASEAN Basketball League (ABL) is a professional men's basketball league in Southeast Asia and Hong Kong/Macau, which includes six teams from Southeast Asian nations (Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam), one team from Hong Kong, and one team from Macau. Froilan Baguion
Froilan C. Baguion (born March 7, 1980) is a Filipino former professional basketball player . He was signed by Welcoat of the Philippine Basketball Association in 2006 after not being drafted in the 2006 PBA draft. College career Baguion was a varsity team player for the National University (NU) Bulldogs. During his stay at NU, he is a part of the team that went to their first UAAP Final Four in 2001 (a feat that won't be replicated until 2012), and a championship in the preseason Father Martin Cup in 2003. Ikenna Nwankwo (born December 27, 1973) is a Nigerian-American former professional basketball player. From Houston, Texas, he played college basketball with the UCLA Bruins, winning a national championship in 1995. Boyet Bautista is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Pasig Pirates of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL), and for the Armed Forces of the Philippines Cavaliers of the UNTV Cup. Bautista played high school and collegiate basketball for the Knights of the Colegio de San Juan de Letran. Ardy Larong (born December 14, 1980) is a Filipino former professional basketball player. He last played for the Philippine Patriots in the Asean Basketball League. He was drafted by Alaska in the second round in the 2007 PBA draft but was left unsigned and the Purefoods Tender Juicy Giants tried him out and signed him. He is known for his defense and hustle. He previously played for numerous teams in the Malaysia National Basketball League, the most recent being Red Bull Barako. He was directly taken by Kuala Lumpur Dragons in 2009. 2011 Thailand Floods
Severe flooding occurred during the 2011 monsoon season in Thailand. The flooding began at the end of July triggered by the landfall of Tropical Storm Nock-ten. These floods soon spread through the provinces of northern, northeastern, and central Thailand along the Mekong and Chao Phraya river basins. In October floodwaters reached the mouth of the Chao Phraya and inundated parts of the capital city of Bangkok. Flooding persisted in some areas until mid-January 2012, and resulted in a total of 815 deaths (with three missing) and 13.6 million people affected. Sixty-five of Thailand's 76 provinces were declared flood disaster zones, and over of farmland was damaged. The 2019 FIBA Asia Champions Cup was the 28th staging of the FIBA Asia Champions Cup, the international basketball club tournament of FIBA Asia.
