Background and composition Between 2021 and 2022, Piri & Tommy released three singles on EMI, " Soft Spot", " Beachin", and "Words". In June 2022, Piri & Tommy signed to Polydor Records, and on 28 July 2022, they released "On & On", which had been written shortly after the pair attended that year's Parklife Festival, a festival Piri would herself play in June 2023. Thomas George Villiers is a musician from Saffron Walden. While best known for his work with Piri and as part of Piri & Tommy, he is also noted for his membership of Porij and See Thru Hands, and as a solo musician and remixer in his own right. He is the great-great-great-great-grandson of the British Prime Minister John Russell, 1st Earl Russell.
