''Friends of God: A Road Trip With Alexandra Pelosi'' is an HBO television documentary about evangelicals in the United States that is written, directed, produced, and narrated by Alexandra Pelosi. The documentary first aired on January 25, 2007 on HBO. Lisa Heller was supervising producer and Sheila Nevins was executive producer. In this documentary, Alexandra Pelosi visits several of the largest evangelical Christian church congregations ("megachurches") in the country, such as Lakewood Church and New Life Church (Colorado Springs, Colorado), and interviews their leaders and members. Pelosi also visits other Christian organizations like the Christian Wrestling Federation, and a Christian-themed car club, and a Christian-themed miniature golf course. Alexandra Corinne Pelosi (born October 5, 1970) is an American journalist, documentary filmmaker, and writer. She is a daughter of Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and Paul Pelosi. Early life and education Pelosi was born and raised in San Francisco, California. The youngest of five children, she earned a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University. In 1993, she received a master's degree from the USC Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism. New Life Church is a nondenominational charismatic evangelical megachurch located in Colorado Springs, Colorado, United States. New Life Church has more than 10,000 members. The church is pastored by Brady Boyd and has multiple congregations that meet throughout the Colorado Springs area.
