Friedrich Moritz Brauer
Friedrich Moritz Brauer (12 May 1832, Vienna – 29 December 1904) was an Austrian entomologist who was Director of the Naturhistorisches Hofmuseum, Vienna, at the time of his death. He wrote many papers on Diptera and Neuroptera. From an assistant in the Entomological Museum at the University of Vienna, Brauer became Custodian of the collections in 1873 and in the following year was appointed Professor of zoology in the University. He was elected an Honorary Fellow of the Entomological Society of London in 1900. Brauer’s first work on the order Neuroptera, and his first entomological publication, in 1850, was a revision of the genus ''Chrysopa''. This was followed during the next few years by numerous papers on the biology of the order which established his reputation as one of the foremost European authorities on the Neuroptera. Hermann Reinhard
Hermann Reinhard (15 November 1816, Dresden – 10 January 1892) was a German physician and entomologist. He specialised in Hymenoptera (bees and their relatives). Reinhard's medical practice was in Bautzen. In 1881 he worked with Eduard von Hofmann on the insects of exhumed bodies making him one of the founders of forensic entomology. His collection is in Staatliches Museum für Tierkunde Dresden and Museum für Naturkunde. Nikolai Jakovlevice Kusnezov
Nikolai Yakovlevich Kuznetsov ( rus, Николай Яковлевич Кузнецов; May 23, 1873 in Saint Petersburg – April 8, 1948 in Leningrad) was a Russian Empire and Soviet entomologist, paleoentomologist and physiologist, since 1910 was member of the Russian Entomological Society. Professor Kuznetsov was very important as a pioneer in the fields of insect physiology, Lepidoptera fauna of the Arctic (Siberia) and knowledge of fossils of Lepidoptera. He influenced the very famous lepidopterist and writer Vladimir Nabokov: "At the age of eight he abokovbegan reading serious books on entomology from the family library and at nine he already attempted to make his first scientific discovery, writing about it to the leading Russian lepidopterist, Nikolay Kuznetsov. Kuznetsov's reply disappointed the young naturalist: it turned out that the insect in question had already been described."
