Miss Earth Sweden was a beauty pageant for Sweden, Swedish females between 18–27 years old. The pageant was until 2013 sponsored by Carousel Production Inc.. The winner of the pageant competes in the global beauty pageant, Miss Earth, held each year in the Philippines. The main issues of the contest are environmental causes and the preservation of the Earth. The Swedish supervisor of the franchise was, until 2011, Roberto Strindstedt. Miss Sweden or Miss Universe Sweden (in Swedish: ''Fröken Sverige''), is the title of the Swedish beauty pageant, qualifying delegates to the Miss Universe competition. Miss Universe 2017 was the 66th Miss Universe pageant, held at The AXIS at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States on November 26, 2017. At the end of the event, Iris Mittenaere of France crowned Demi-Leigh Nel-Peters of South Africa as Miss Universe 2017. It is South Africa's first victory in almost 4 decades, and the second victory of the country in the pageant's history. Ida Ovmar (born July 17, 1995) is a Swedish model and beauty pageant titleholder who won Miss Universe Sweden 2016 and represented Sweden at Miss Universe 2016. Ovmar started her pageant career at the age of seventeen when she entered the stage of Miss World Sweden. She won Miss Bride of Sweden and traveled to China. She placed in the top.
