Frejlev
Frejlev is a satellite community just outside Aalborg, Denmark. Located some 3 km (2 mi) west of Skalborg and southwest of Aalborg's city centre, it belongs to the Municipality of Aalborg in the North Jutland Region, and had a population of 3,169 (1 January 2023).BY3: Population 1. Thomas Enevoldsen
Thomas Enevoldsen (born 27 July 1987) is a Danish former professional footballer who played as a forward. He made eleven appearances for the Denmark national team scoring one goal. Club career AaB Enevoldsen was born in Frejlev, a suburb to Aalborg. He got his domestic breakthrough during AaB's championship-winning 2007–08 Danish Superliga season. Enevoldsen played 31 of 33 Superliga games and scored three goals. He also played well at the European stage, and scored a goal at White Hart Lane against Tottenham Hotspur in the 2007–08 UEFA Cup, to put AaB one ahead in a game they eventually lost 3–2. On 3 April 2008, he was selected as Player of the Month in March by the managers and team captains of the Superliga clubs. Enevoldsen played 28 games in the 2008–09 Danish Superliga season, as well as games in the European 2008–09 UEFA Champions League and 2008–09 UEFA Cup tournaments. Aalborg (, , ) is Denmark's fourth largest town (behind Copenhagen, Aarhus, and Odense) with a population of 119,862 (1 July 2022) in the town proper and an urban population of 143,598 (1 July 2022). Ellen Christensen
Ellen Marie Christensen (1913–1998) was a Danish nurse who became a resistance fighter during the German occupation of Denmark in World War II. In 1953, she was awarded the Florence Nightingale Medal for her contribution to saving Jews, resistance workers and allied pilots. Biography Born on 30 March 1913 in the parish of Frejlev to the south west of Aalborg, Ellen Marie Christensen was the daughter of the farmer Peter Marinus Christensen (born 1885) and Christiane Hansen (born 1884). Brought up in a well-to-do family, after completing her school education, she trained to become a nurse. Under the German occupation, she was employed at Bispebjerg Hospital. She soon became a member of the resistance group Frit Danmark (Free Denmark) where she helped to produce and distribute illegal publications. North Jutland Region
The North Jutland Region ( da, Region Nordjylland), or in some official sources, the North Denmark Region, is an administrative region of Denmark established on 1 January 2007 as part of the 2007 Danish municipal reform, which abolished the traditional counties () and set up five larger regions. At the same time, smaller municipalities were merged into larger units, cutting the number of municipalities from 271 before 1 January 2006, when Ærø Municipality was created, to 98. Statistics Denmark ( da, Danmarks Statistik) is a Danish governmental organization under the Ministry of the Interior and Housing and which reports to the Minister of Economic and Internal Affairs. The organization is responsible for creating statistics on the Danish society, for example employment statistics, trade balance, and demographics.
