Alliance Of Free Democrats
The Alliance of Free Democrats – Hungarian Liberal Party ( hu, Szabad Demokraták Szövetsége – a Magyar Liberális Párt, SZDSZ) was a liberal political party in Hungary. The SZDSZ was a member of the Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party and of Liberal International. It drew its support predominantly from Budapest among the middle classes, liberal intellectuals and entrepreneurs, with an ideological basis in social and economic liberalism. SZDSZ provided the first freely elected President for the Third Hungarian Republic, Árpád Göncz. The SZDSZ High Mayor of Budapest, Gábor Demszky was in office continuously since 1990 till 2010, when he was replaced by István Tarlós (who himself was a member of SZDSZ in the 1990s). Association Of Free Democrats
The Association of Free Democrats (german: Bund Freier Demokraten) was a liberal coalition, later party, formed in East Germany on 12 February 1990. It originally consisted of the Liberal Democratic Party of Germany, Liberal Democratic Party, the Free Democratic Party (GDR) and the German Forum Party. In the Volkskammer election of the 18 March 1990 the Association of Free Democrats, heavily supported by the West German Free Democratic Party (Germany), Free Democratic Party, polled 5.28% of the votes and gained 21 seats, all parties running on the same lists. Most of the seats went to Liberal Democratic Party of Germany, Liberal Democratic Party members, whose leader Rainer Ortleb became their parliamentary leader. Free Democrats ( hy, Ազատ դեմոկրատներ, translit=Azat demokratner) is an Armenian liberal, Pro-European political party. It was founded in 2011 by Khachatur Kokobelyan. History Some Free Democrats party members participated in the 2012 Armenian parliamentary election under the Heritage Party list. Following the election, Heritage won 5.78% of the vote. The party participated in the 2017 Armenian parliamentary election, however the party won just 0.94% of the vote, failing to win any political representation. The Civic Movement ( cs, Občanské hnutí, OH) was a liberal political party based in the Czech Republic, which existed from 1991 to 1995. The party was established after the break-up of Civic Forum by the liberal wing of Civic Forum, while the conservative wing established the Civic Democratic Party. Foreign Minister Jiří Dienstbier was elected leader of the Civic Movement. The party participated in the 1992 legislative election but failed to reach the required 5% threshold and was left without parliamentary representation. The Free Democrats (''Liberi Democratici'', LD) were the centrist faction within the Democratic Party (PD), a political party in Italy, around Francesco Rutelli, former leader of Democracy is Freedom – The Daisy, one of the two main parties that merged to form the PD in 2007. Free Democrats (Norway)
The Free Democrats ( no, Fridemokratene) is a political organization formed by former members of the Progress Party of Norway in 1994. The 1993 election saw the support of the Progress Party (6.3 percent and 10 representatives) halved. After the 1994 Progress Party national convention several representatives of the "libertarian wing" broke out and founded a party more ideologically consistently libertarian, the Free Democrats. Four of the defectors were MPs, and formed an independent group in Parliament of Norway. Its first leader Ellen Christine Christiansen was among the four MPs, and also served in Oslo city council until 1995. The Free Democrats (FREE DEMS) is a South African political party founded by neurologist Dr. Johan Reid to lobby for private health care, and is opposed to the government's proposed National Health Insurance. It is furthermore in favour of free enterprise, privatisation, private education and lower taxes. Controversy Reid has previously been accused of sexual harassment, and has been found guilty of seven counts of unprofessional conduct by the Health Professions Council. The United Democrats ( el, Ενωμένοι Δημοκράτες (ΕΔΗ), ''Enomenoi Dimokrates'' (EDI)) is a liberal political party in Cyprus. The party was founded by former President of Cyprus George Vasiliou in 1993 as ''Kinima Eleftheron Dimokraton'' ("Movement of Free Democrats"). The party later merged with ADISOK (a group of former AKEL members, including Andreas Fantis, Andreas Ziartides and Pavlos Diglis) to form United Democrats.
