Free Democrats (Norway)
The Free Democrats ( no, Fridemokratene) is a political organization formed by former members of the Progress Party of Norway in 1994. The 1993 election saw the support of the Progress Party (6.3 percent and 10 representatives) halved. After the 1994 Progress Party national convention several representatives of the "libertarian wing" broke out and founded a party more ideologically consistently libertarian, the Free Democrats. Four of the defectors were MPs, and formed an independent group in Parliament of Norway. Its first leader Ellen Christine Christiansen was among the four MPs, and also served in Oslo city council until 1995. In the Norwegian county elections, 1995 the party received 1,932 votes, 0.09% of the votes. The Free Democrats no longer participate in elections and function merely as a think tank and organization for Norwegian libertarians, regardless of their political allegiance. Conscription (also called the draft in the United States) is the state-mandated enlistment of people in a national service, mainly a military service. Liberal People's Party (Norway)
The Liberal People's Party ( no, Det Liberale Folkepartiet, DLF) was a classical liberal Norwegian political party created in 1992 by some of the members of the old Liberal People's Party. History During the 1990s, some of the Progress Party's members considered the party to have become less liberal than it had been in its earlier days. These members of the Progress Party then decided to join the DLF. The DLF then took increasingly more classically liberal viewpoints on most issues, emerging as a promoter of economic liberalism and laissez-faire capitalism. Hans Jørgen Lysglimt Johansen (born September 13, 1971) is a Norwegian economist and political activist who is the leader of the party Alliance - Alternative for Norway. He is known for his neo-Nazi rhetoric, which features regular racist and antisemitic statements. Kristian Norheim
Kristian Norheim (born 19 April 1976) is a Norwegian politician who has been a member of the Stortinget as an alternate for State Secretary Bård Hoksrud. He is a member of the Progress Party and an expert on international relations. Early life and education Norheim was born in Porsgrunn. He is the son of Helge Kristian Norheim. He received a Cand.
