Frederick Arthur Dewhurst
Frederick Arthur Dewhurst (March 17, 1911 – July 30, 1985) was a farmer and political figure in Saskatchewan, Canada. He represented Wadena in the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan from 1945 to 1975 as a member of the CCF/NDP. He was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, the son of Aaron Dewhurst and Amelia Cameron, and was educated in the Barrier Lake area. Dewhurst married Doris Stewart. He farmed in the Archerwill district until 1967, when he moved to Wynyard. Kelvington-Wadena is a provincial electoral district for the Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan, Canada, in the east-central region. It was created in 1975 from Wadena and Kelvington. The Legislative Assembly of Saskatchewan is the legislative chamber of the Saskatchewan Legislature in the province of Saskatchewan, Canada. Bills passed by the assembly are given royal assent by the Lieutenant Governor of Saskatchewan, in the name of the King in Right of Saskatchewan. The assembly meets at the Saskatchewan Legislative Building in Regina. There are 61 constituencies in the province, which elect members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) to the Legislative Assembly. All are single-member districts, though the cities of Regina, Saskatoon and Moose Jaw were in the past represented through multi-member districts, with members elected through Block Voting. The Saskatchewan New Democratic Party (NDP) is a social-democratic political party in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. It currently forms the official opposition, but has been a dominant force in Saskatchewan politics since the 1940s. The party is the successor to the Saskatchewan section of the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation (CCF), and is affiliated with the federal New Democratic Party. Archerwill ( 2021 population: ) is a village in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan within the Rural Municipality of Barrier Valley No. 397 and Census Division No. 14. The village is approximately north of Wadena, south of Tisdale and southeast of the City of Melfort. Since 1981 Archerwill has been the administrative centre of the RM of Barrier Valley. Wynyard, Saskatchewan
Wynyard is a town in eastern Saskatchewan, Canada, 132 km west of Yorkton and 190 km east of Saskatoon. Wynyard is in but not part of the rural municipality of Big Quill No. 308. It is located on the Yellowhead Highway just south of Big Quill Lake. History Many of the early settlers to the area around Big Quill Lake were of Icelandic origin, and the ethnic block settlement area was called the Vatnabyggd settlement.
