Frederich Cepeda
Frederich Cepeda Cruz (born April 8, 1980) is a Cuban professional baseball outfielder for who is currently a free agent. He also played in Nippon Professional Baseball for the Yomiuri Giants. Career Cepeda signed with the Yomiuri Giants of Nippon Professional Baseball on April 19, 2014. In parts of 2 seasons with Yomiuri, Cepeda slashed .163/.319/.326 with 6 home runs and 19 RBI.On August 13, 2018, Cepeda signed with the Toros de Tijuana of the Mexican League. Cepeda did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the Mexican League season because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On February 12, 2021, Cepeda was traded to El Águila de Veracruz of the Mexican League, a new expansion team. However, the contract was later voided due to monetary concerns and Cepeda became a free agent. Yomiuri Giants
The are a Japanese professional baseball team competing in Nippon Professional Baseball's Central League. Based in Bunkyo, Tokyo, they are one of two professional baseball teams based in Tokyo, the other being the Tokyo Yakult Swallows. They have played their home games in the Tokyo Dome since its opening in 1988. The team's owner is Yomiuri Shimbun Holdings, Japan's largest media conglomerate which also owns two newspapers (including the eponymous ''Yomiuri Shimbun'') and the Nippon Television Network (which includes flagship Nippon TV). 2005 Baseball World Cup
The 2005 Baseball World Cup (BWC) was the 36th international Men's amateur baseball tournament. The tournament was sanctioned by the International Baseball Federation, which titled it the Amateur World Series from the 1938 tournament through the 1986 AWS. The tournament was held, for the second time, in the Netherlands, from September 2 to 17. Cuba defeated South Korea in the final, winning its 25th title. There were 18 participating countries, split into two groups, with the first four of each group qualifying for the finals. Games were played in the Dutch cities of Rotterdam, Haarlem, Almere, Amsterdam and Eindhoven. Baseball At The 2011 Pan American Games
Baseball at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara was held between October 19 and 25, 2011. All games were played at the Pan American Baseball Stadium in Lagos de Moreno, Mexico. The draw for the competition took place in July 2011, in which the eight teams were drawn into two groups of four. Baseball was competed by men only, while women competed in the similar sport of softball. Each team could enter a team of 24 athletes for a maximum of 192 competitors for this tournament. The tournament was played using designated hitter rules. Cuba entered the tournament having won 10 consecutive baseball gold medals at the Pan American Games, dating back to 1971. The 2011 Pan American Games, officially the XVI Pan American Games, was an international multi-sport event that was held from October 14–30, 2011, in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. The 2007 Pan American Games, officially known as the XV Pan American Games, were a major continental multi-sport event that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 13 to 29, 2007. The 2003 Pan American Games were held in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, from August 1 to 17, 2003. The successful bid for the games was made in the mid-1990s, when Dominican Republic had one of the highest growth rates in Latin America. The 2006 IBAF Intercontinental Cup was held in Taichung, Taiwan from November 9 through the 19th. Eight countries contested the tournament, which was played at Taichung Baseball Field and the newly built Taichung Intercontinental Baseball Stadium.
