Fred Mouncher
Frederick William Mouncher (19 November 1883 – 17 February 1918) was an English professional footballer who played as a winger for Southampton and Fulham in the 1900s. Playing career Mouncher was born in Southampton and played as an amateur with local sides Fitzhugh Rovers and Southampton Cambridge. He started his professional career in the summer of 1903 at The Dell where he teamed up with his former colleague at Fitzhugh Rovers, Fred Harrison. He made his debut for Southampton on 26 September 1903 at outside left, replacing Joe Turner for one match. In February, he started a longer run as replacement to the injured John Fraser, and played a total of ten games as the "Saints" took the Southern League title for the sixth (and last) time. He joined Southampton's summer 1904 tour of South America, during which they played teams representing Argentina and Uruguay, winning 8–0 and 8–1 respectively. Harry Wood (26 June 1868 – 5 July 1951) was a professional footballer who played most of his career as an inside forward for Wolverhampton Wanderers and Southampton. Playing career Wolverhampton Wanderers A real gentleman, he was a model professional who played the game with great skill and enthusiasm. A pen–picture printed in 1889 described him as being "clever in ball manipulation and staidley exact distribution." He certainly gave the fans something to cheer about during his two spells with Wanderers. On leaving school Wood played briefly for Walsall Swifts, 1884–1885, joining Wolves in the summer of 1885 and making his senior debut for the Wanderers in an FA Cup tie against Derby St. Luke's on 31 October 1885. Southern Football League
The Southern League is a men's football competition featuring semi-professional clubs from the South and Midlands of England. Together with the Isthmian League and the Northern Premier League it forms levels seven and eight of the English football league system. The structure of the Southern League has changed several times since its formation in 1894, and currently there are 84 clubs which are divided into four divisions.
