Françoise Vergès
Françoise Vergès (born 23 January 1952) is a French political scientist, historian, film producer, independent curator, activist and public educator. Her work focuses on postcolonial studies and decolonial feminism. Vergès was born in Paris, grew up in Réunion and Algeria, before returning to Paris to study and become a journalist. She moved to the US in 1983, studying at the University of California, San Diego and Berkeley. Vergès' book ''A Decolonial Feminism'' was published in English in 2021, translated by Ashley J. Bohrer along with Vergès, with the support of an English PEN Translates award. Career Françoise Vergès was a journalist and editor at Panthéon-Sorbonne University. Éditions des Femmes is a French feminist publishing house that was launched in 1972, mainly by women of the collective Psychoanalysis and Politics led by Antoinette Fouque, with other activists of the MLF, and funded by the patron Sylvina Boissonnas. Simplified Chinese Characters
Simplified Chinese characters are standardized Chinese characters used in mainland China, Malaysia and Singapore, as prescribed by the ''Table of General Standard Chinese Characters''. Along with traditional Chinese characters, they are one of the two standard character sets of the contemporary Chinese written language. The Government of China, government of the People's Republic of China in mainland China has promoted them for use in printing since the 1950s and 1960s to encourage literacy. Nabil Ennasri is a French writer, association actor and specialist in the geopolitics of Islam and the Middle East (particularly the countries of the Arab-Persian Gulf). Early life and education He was born and raised in Laval. Alain Gresh (born 1948 in Cairo, Egypt) is a French journalist and former editor of ''Le Monde Diplomatique''. He wrote articles mainly on the Islamic world and the Arab world. Alongside his career, he is a Palestinian nationalist activist. He is often qualified by journalists as an "islamo-leftist".
