Franz Exner
Franz Serafin Exner (24 March 1849 – 15 October 1926) was an Austrian physicist. Life Exner came from one of the most important university families of the Austrian-Hungarian empire. The same Exner family included , , Sigmund Exner, and . Exner was youngest of the five children who survived to adulthood of parents Franz Serafin Exner (1802-1853) and Charlotte Dusensy (1816–1859). His father Franz Serafin was, from 1831 to 1848, a professor of philosophy in Prague and from 1848 onwards a member of the Board of Education in Vienna, becoming an influential reformer of Austrian university education. Franz Exner began his university Physics studies at Vienna in 1867. He received a doctorate from the University of Vienna in 1871, after an academic year at Zürich under August Kundt, also working alongside Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen, Kundt's student and, especially through the 1879s, regular research assistant/partner. ''Die Presse'' is a German-language daily broadsheet newspaper based in Vienna, Austria. It is considered a newspaper of record for Austria. History and profile ''Die Presse'' was first printed on 3 July 1848 as a liberal (libertarian)-bourgeois newspaper within the meaning of the revolutions of 1848 by the entrepreneur August Zang. Ernst Lecher
Ernst Lecher (1 June 1856 – 19 July 1926) was an Austrian physicist who, from 1909, was head of the ''First Institute of Physics'' in Vienna. He is remembered for developing an apparatus— "Lecher lines"—to measure the wavelength and frequency of electromagnetic waves. He gave his name to the Ernst-Lecher-Institut, a radar research establishment set up in the 1940s in Reichenau an der Rax, Reichenau, south of Vienna, which is now a part of the German research institute Max Planck Institute. Lecher's father, Zacharias K Lecher, was editor of Vienna's leading daily newspaper, ''Die Presse'', and helped to publicise the discovery of X-rays of his Germans, German colleague Wilhelm Röntgen in 1896. An X-ray, or, much less commonly, X-radiation, is a penetrating form of high-energy electromagnetic radiation. Most X-rays have a wavelength ranging from 10 picometers to 10 nanometers, corresponding to frequencies in the range 30 petahertz to 30 exahertz ( to ) and energies in the range 145 eV to 124 keV. Johann Josef Loschmidt (15 March 1821 – 8 July 1895), who referred to himself mostly as Josef Loschmidt (omitting his first name), was a notable Austrian scientist who performed ground-breaking work in chemistry, physics (thermodynamics, optics, electrodynamics), and crystal forms. Born in Karlsbad, a town located in the Austrian Empire (now Karlovy Vary, Czech Republic), Loschmidt became professor of physical chemistry at the University of Vienna in 1868. He had two early mentors. The first was a Bohemian priest, Adalbert Czech, who persuaded Loschmidt's parents to send young Josef to high school in the Piarist monastery in Schlackenwerth and, in 1837, to advanced high-school classes in Prague. This was followed by two years of philosophy and mathematics at Prague's Charles University, where Loschmidt met his second important mentor.
