Franklin County Courthouse, Southern District
The Franklin County Courthouse, Southern District is located at 607 East Main Street (Arkansas Highway 22) in Charleston, Arkansas. It is a -story brick building, its bays divided by brick pilasters, and its roof topping a metal cornice. Its entrance is framed by brick pilasters with cast stone heads, and topped by a round arch with a cast stone keystone. The building was built in 1923 to a design by Little Rock, Arkansas, Little Rock architect Frank Gibb. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976. Franklin County Courthouse (Maine)
The Franklin County Courthouse is a courthouse located in Farmington, Maine, the county seat of Franklin County. The 1885 courthouse represents a sophisticated design by George M. Coombs, with an addition in 1917 by Coombs' son, Harry Coombs. The building, the county's first purpose-built courthouse, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983. Architecture The courthouse is set in a small park just on the northern edge of Farmington's central business district, bounded by Main, Anson, Cony, and Church Streets. It is a -story red-brick structure, roughly rectangular in shape, with high-style Victorian Italianate features. It has a hip roof which is crowned by a small square tower with a louvered ventilator, clock, and metal dome with weathervane. The Franklin County Courthouse is a historic building in Winchester, Tennessee, U.S. It is the courthouse of Franklin County, Tennessee. The building was the third courthouse built for Franklin County. The first one was built in 1814 and the second one in 1839. The third and current courthouse was built in 1936–1937. Franklin County Courthouse (Pennsylvania)
The current Franklin County Courthouse in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, built in 1865, is the third courthouse building on the site. The site was originally purchased from Colonel Benjamin Chambers in 1785. The current building replaced its predecessor that was burnt on July 30, 1864 by Confederate forces under Brigadier General John A. McCausland in the American Civil War. McCausland was acting under the orders of General Jubal A. Early. Early was commander of the Shenandoah Valley, which was subject to much destruction by the Union forces. He was eager to retaliate against the North. Chambersburg deserved this retaliation, in his view, in part for its sympathy with John Brown while planning his raid on Harpers Ferry. McCausland offered the people of Chambersburg the chance to ransom the town for $100,000 in gold or $500,000 in greenbacks. Franklin County Courthouse (1887–1974)
The 1887 Franklin County Courthouse was the second permanent courthouse of Franklin County, Ohio. The building, located in the county seat of Columbus, stood from 1887 to 1974. It replaced a smaller courthouse on the site, extant from 1840 to c. 1884. The 1887 courthouse deteriorated over several decades, and the site was eventually replaced with Dorrian Commons Park, open from 1976 to 2018; the court moved to a new building nearby. As of 2020, the site is planned to once again hold the county's courthouse. Franklin County Courthouse (Ozark, Arkansas)
The Franklin County Courthouse is located at 211 West Commercial Street in Ozark, the county seat of Franklin County, Arkansas. It is a two-story brick structure, with a tower prominently sited at one corner. The courthouse was built in 1904 to a design by Little Rock architect Frank W. Gibb, and originally had Italianate styling. It was extensively damaged by fire in 1944, and its upper level was rebuilt in a Classical Moderne style to a design by T.
