Franklin Bautista
Franklin Peralta Bautista (born April 1, 1952) is a Filipino politician currently serving as the first Vice Governor of the newly created Province of Davao Occidental. A member of the Liberal Party, he has been elected to two terms as a Member of the House of Representatives of the Philippines, representing the Second District of Davao del Sur. He first served from 1998 to 2001, and was again elected in 2007. Davao Occidental ( Cebuano: ''Kasadpang Dabaw''; Filipino: ''Kanlurang Davao''), officially the Province of Davao Occidental, is a province in the Philippines located in the Davao Region in Mindanao. Its capital is the municipality of Malita. To the east lies the Davao Gulf. It also shares a maritime border with the Indonesian province of North Sulawesi to the south. History What is now Davao Occidental was once a part of the now-defunct Davao Province which encompasses the entirety of present-day Davao Region. Lakas–Christian Muslim Democrats (), abbreviated as Lakas–CMD and popularly known as Lakas, was a political party in the Philippines. Its ideology and that of its successor is heavily influenced by Christian and Islamic democracy.
