Frank Theatre Company
Frank Theatre Company, formerly known as Screaming Weenie, is a professional theatre company in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada committed to the production, promotion and development of queer and sex positive arts and artists. The company defines 'queer' as individuals and groups outside of sexual and gender norms. Early years Incorporated in 2003 with co-founder and original artistic director Ilena Lee Cramer at the helm, the company established itself by staging new plays and creative collaborations at Vancouver night clubs. While Screaming Weenie was a self-described 'queer company', a descriptive quote from Cramer from the on-line magazine Word Play in 2004 reads, "The Weenies do theatre for a wide audience - I'm interested in reaching those who are disenfranchised by art". Theatre

Ann-Marie MacDonald (born October 29, 1958) is a Canadian playwright, author, actress, and broadcast host who lives in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. MacDonald is the daughter of a member of Canada's military; she was born at an air force base near Baden-Baden, West Germany. She is of partial Lebanese descent through her mother. Seán Cummings is a Canadian film and television industry professional and former playwright, actor, producer, and director from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He was born in Ontario on January 17, 1968. Cummings' first full-length play, "Chasing Home" was produced at the Vancouver Playhouse by the Frank Theatre Company and the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Company in Vancouver, BC in 2012. ''Bent'' is a 1979 play by Martin Sherman. It revolves around the persecution of gays in Nazi Germany, and takes place during and after the Night of the Long Knives. The title of the play refers to the slang word "bent" used in some European countries to refer to homosexuals. When the play was first performed, there was only a trickle of historical research or even awareness about the Nazi persecution of homosexuals. In some regards, the play helped increase that historical research and education in the 1980s and 1990s. ''Leaving Metropolis'' is a 2002 Canadian drama film, written and directed by Brad Fraser as an adaptation of his theatrical play ''Poor Super Man''. ''Take Me Out'' is a play by American playwright Richard Greenberg. After a staging at the Donmar Warehouse in London, it premiered Off-Broadway on September 5, 2002 at the Joseph Papp Public Theater. Lambda Literary Awards, also known as the "Lammys", are awarded yearly by Lambda Literary to recognize the crucial role LGBTQ writers play in shaping the world.
