Frank Ernest Gatliff (31 December 1927 – 23 June 1990) was an Australian actor based in Great Britain. Melbourne ( ; Boonwurrung/Woiwurrung: ''Narrm'' or ''Naarm'') is the capital and most populous city of the Australian state of Victoria, and the second-most populous city in both Australia and Oceania. ''The Good Life'' is a British sitcom, produced by BBC television. It ran from 4 April 1975 to 10 June 1978 on BBC 1 and was written by Bob Larbey and John Esmonde. Opening with the midlife crisis of Tom Good, a 40-year-old plastics designer, it relates the joys and setbacks he and his wife Barbara experience when they attempt to escape a modern "rat race" lifestyle by "becoming totally self-sufficient" in their suburban house in Surbiton. In 2004, it came 9th in ''Britain's Best Sitcom''. The lead roles are taken by Richard Briers and Felicity Kendal. ''His Lordship Entertains'' was Ronnie Barker's second vehicle for his Lord Rustless character, first seen three years earlier in '' Hark at Barker'' on ITV. This time though, Rustless appeared in a series for BBC2. ''Hark at Barker'' had also included sketch inserts, whereas ''His Lordship Entertains'' was a sitcom. Set again in the aristocratic Chrome Hall, which had now become a hotel. It once more starred David Jason as the 100-year-old Dithers and Josephine Tewson as Mildred Bates, two actors who would continue to have a working relationships with Barker. In fact all of the regular cast reprised their roles from ''Hark at Barker''.
