Frank Edwards (Illinois Politician)
Frank Edwards (September 16, 1950 – January 28, 2020) was an American politician who served as List of mayors of Springfield, Illinois, mayor of Springfield, Illinois. He was appointed by the Springfield, Illinois, Springfield City council, City Council on December 28, 2010, to the vacancy caused by the death of Mayor Timothy Davlin, Tim Davlin. He was succeeded by J. Michael Houston on April 29, 2011. Edwards served as alderman for the city's first ward since 2003 and sought re-election to that office. Before becoming an elected official, Edwards served as Springfield's fire chief. Early life and career Frank Edwards was born in 1950. Abraham Lincoln Capital Airport is a civil-military airport in Sangamon County, Illinois, United States, three miles (6 km) northwest of downtown Springfield. Misty Buscher (born 1970/1971) is the mayor of Springfield, Illinois, the state capital and seat of Sangamon County. She is the second female mayor in the history of Springfield.
