Frank Badgery
Francis Arthur Badgery (1852 – 28 August 1915) was a British-born Australian politician. He was born in Exeter, the eleventh child of farmer Henry Badgery and Mary Ann Reilly. He came to New South Wales at a young age and attended Camden College in Newtown. On 27 October 1876 he married Elizabeth Evans, with whom he would have five children. He owned property at Sutton Forest and at Roma Downs in Queensland, and later at Queanbeyan. From 1906 he was a Wingecarribee Shire councillor, and he was involved in local government as the first president of the Shires Association. In 1913 he was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly as the Liberal member for Wollondilly, serving until his death at Sutton Forest in 1915. Liberal Reform Party (Australia)
The Liberal Reform Party was an Australian political party, active in New South Wales state politics between 1901 and 1916. It drew much of its support from Protestant and Temperance groups. History The question of tariff policy which, had created and divided the Free Trade Party and Protectionist Party in New South Wales in the 1890s, became a federal issue at the time of federation. Deprived of their main ideological difference, the two parties were recreated as the Liberal Reform Party, aligned with the federal Free Trade Party, and the Progressive Party, aligned with the federal Protectionist Party. The Progressive Party's vote collapsed at the 1904 election and many of its members then joined the Liberal Reform Party. George Fuller (Australian Politician)
Sir George Warburton Fuller (22 January 1861 – 22 July 1940) was an Australian politician who served as the 22nd Premier of New South Wales, in office from 1922 to 1925 and for one day in December 1921. He previously served in the federal House of Representatives from 1901 to 1913, representing the Division of Illawarra, and was Minister for Home Affairs under Alfred Deakin from 1909 to 1910. Early life Fuller was born in Kiama, New South Wales and was educated at Kiama Public School, Sydney Grammar School and at St Andrew's College at the University of Sydney. He received a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in 1879, and a Master of Arts in 1882 from the University of Sydney. He studied law under Sir William Patrick Manning (eminent judge and university chancellor) and became a barrister in 1884. William McCourt
William Joseph McCourt (1 March 1851 – 22 June 1913) was an Irish-born Australian politician. He was born in County Monaghan to shoemaker James McCourt and Bridget Smith. He arrived in New South Wales with his parents in 1852 and attended Wollongong Public School. He was apprenticed to a printer after leaving school, and was also a successful land speculator. In 1882 he married Emily Elizabeth, with whom he had six children. He was elected to the New South Wales Legislative Assembly in 1882 as the member for Camden. He lost his seat in 1885 but was re-elected in 1887. A free trader, he transferred to Bowral in 1894 and to Wollondilly in 1904. Henry Badgery
Henry Septimus Badgery (9 December 1840 – 23 August 1917) was an Australian politician, elected as a member of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Badgery was born at Sutton Forest, New South Wales, and married, in 1869, Julia, daughter of G. M. Pitt, of Sydney. He was member for East Maitland in the Legislative Assembly of New South Wales from 5 June 1878 to 9 November 1880, and was afterwards twice elected for Monaro, serving from 2 December 1880 to 7 October 1885. Having joined the Dibbs Ministry as Secretary for Public Works, on 7 October 1885, he was defeated at Camden 12 days later and resigned office on the 31st of the same month. Following the death of his first wife in 1894 at age 52, Badgery married a second time to Alice May King in 1896 who died late that year aged 38. Electoral District Of Wollondilly
Wollondilly is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It is represented by Nathaniel Smith of the Liberal Party. History Wollondilly was first established in 1904, partly replacing Bowral. In 1920, with the introduction of proportional representation, it absorbed Wollongong and Allowrie and elected three members simultaneously. In 1927, it was split into the single-member electorates of Wollondilly, Wollongong and Illawarra. It was abolished in 1981, but was recreated for the 2007 election, partly replacing Southern Highlands.
