Francis Serrano
Francisco Serrano (1695–1748, Chinese name: 德方济) was a Spanish Catholic missionary in China during the 18th century. He died as a martyr in 1748 and was later canonized by the church as a saint. Life He was born on December 4, 1695, in Huéneja in southern Spain. His father was Juan Serrano Ximénez and his mother was María de Frías Treviño. He joined the Dominican Order in Spain and made his profession of vows at the Monastery of Santa Cruz la Real in 1714. Serrano and several other Dominicans were sent as missionaries to Asia in 1725. They embarked from Cadiz and sailed westwards to Spanish Mexico. Francisco Serrano Domínguez Cuenca y Pérez de Vargas, 1st Duke of la Torre, Grandee of Spain, Count of San Antonio (17 December 1810 – 25 November 1885) was a Spanish marshal and statesman. He was Prime Minister of Spain in 1868–69 and regent in 1869–70. Early life and education Serrano was born on 17 December 1810 in the Isla de León (current day San Fernando), in the Bay of Cádiz. He was son of Francisco Serrano y Cuenca and Isabel Domínguez de Guevara Vasconcelos. His father, born in Lopera, parish of Purísima Concepción, was a general officer and a Liberal. His mother was born in Marbella circa 1780. Serrano began his studies at Vergara in the Basque provinces. Francisco Serrano (born June 27, 1949) is a Mexican poet and writer whose multiple works also include opera librettos and publications in collaboration with painters. For over a decade, Serrano contributed actively to a variety of cultural affairs initiatives undertaken by the Mexican government. Biography Serrano initiated his studies at Colegio Madrid in Mexico City, his city of origin. Francisco de Asís Serrano Castro (born 21 March 1965) is a Spanish former judge and politician of the Vox (political party), Vox party. He began work as a judge aged 25, and received national attention for his anti-feminism, anti-feminist views, as well as for a child custody case in 2010. This case saw him disqualified for two years, then ten, and then fully absolved. A member of Vox from 2014, he was their candidate for President of the Regional Government of Andalusia in 2015 Andalusian regional election, 2015 and 2018 Andalusian regional election, 2018.
