Francisco Dagohoy
Francisco Dagohoy (born Francisco Sendrijas; c. 1724) was a Filipino revolutionary who holds the distinction of having initiated the longest revolt in Philippine history, the Dagohoy Rebellion. This rebellion against the Spanish colonial government took place on the island of Bohol from 1744 to 1829, roughly 85 years. Francisco Dagohoy started the revolt at the age of 20. He probably died before 1829 due to either old age or sickness. Little is known of Francisco Dagohoy's lifestyle before the rebellion, or even his early life. The only information known is that his real name was Francisco Sendrijas, that he was born in 1724, and that he was a native of Barangay Cambitoon, Inabanga, Bohol. He was also '' cabeza de barangay'', or one of the barangay captains of the town. Rizal Park ( fil, Liwasang Rizal, es, link=no, Parque Rizal), also known as Luneta Park or simply Luneta, is a historic urban park located in Ermita, Manila. Mariano Ricafort Palacín y Abarca (1776–1846) was Governor of Cuba, Intendant of La Paz, part of Rio de la Plata, and the 61st Governor-General of the Philippines. He was an able administrator and a governor of judgment and energy. Early life and career Born in 1776, Ricafort was the son of José Ricafort y Abarca, Advocate of the Royal Council, and Juana Palacín y Aysa, a member of a noble family in Huesca. He was baptized at the Cathedral of Huesca and was later made regidor of the town for life. In 1793, he enlisted in the military and served as an infantry cadet during the campaign in Roussillon. Edward Gaylord Bourne, Ph. D. (June 24, 1860 – February 24, 1908) was an American historian. He was born in Strykersville, New York, and educated at Yale graduating in 1883 with high honors. Danao, officially the Municipality of Danao ( ceb, Munisipalidad sa Danao; tgl, Bayan ng Danao), is a 4th class municipality in the province of Bohol, Philippines.
