Francis Joseph Kernan (19 October 1859 – 3 February 1945) was a United States military officer. He participated in the Philippine–American War and later served as a general officer in World War I. The Services of Supply (S. O. S.) was the support chain of the American Expeditionary Forces in France, England, Italy and the Netherlands during World War I. It was disbanded on August 31, 1919, in France. The American Expeditionary Forces (A. E. F.) was a formation of the United States Army on the Western Front of World War I. The A. E.
