Francesco Rambaldi
Francesco Rambaldi (born 19 January 1999) is an Italian chess grandmaster. He is the No. 3 ranked Italian player, and the No. 26 ranked U21 player in the world as of April 2019. Chess career Born in Milan, Italy, Rambaldi started playing chess at the age of 8 at a chess club in Grenoble, France. He was Champion of France and Champion of Italy in the U10 category in 2009, and Italian Champion in the U12 and U14 categories in 2011 and 2013, respectively. He completed his international master FIDE titles are awarded by the international chess governing body FIDE (''Fédération Internationale des Échecs'') for outstanding performance. French Chess Championship
The French Chess Championship is the annual, national chess tournament of France. It was officially first played in 1923 after the formation of the ''Fédération Française des Echecs'' in 1921. The Italian Chess Federation (Italian: Federazione Scacchistica Italiana (FSI)) was established in 1920. The first Italian Chess Championship took place at Viareggio 1921. The 1998 Championship was held 21–29 November in Saint-Vincent. The ten-player field had an average Elo rating of 2390. International Master
FIDE titles are awarded by the international chess governing body FIDE (''Fédération Internationale des Échecs'') for outstanding performance. The highest such title is Grandmaster (GM). Norm (chess)
A norm in chess is a high level of performance in a chess tournament. The level of performance is typically measured in tournament performance rating above a certain threshold (for instance, 2600 for GM norm), and there is a requirement on the level of tournament, for instance by a prescribed minimal number of participants of given title/level one meets. Several norms are among the requirements to receive a title such as Grandmaster from FIDE.
