Francesco De Rocchi
Francesco De Rocchi (1902 in Saronno – 1978 in Milan) was an Italian painter. Biography De Rocchi studied art at the Brera Academy in Milan from 1916 to 1926. He started an association with the Novecento Italiano movement in the second half of the 1920s. His maiden participation to the Venice Biennale was on the occasion of the 15th edition in 1926. In 1927 the Galleria d'Arte Moderna, Milan bought one of his works and in 1929 he took part in the Seconda Mostra del Novecento Italiano in Milan. De Rocchi's involvement with the Chiarismo movement in the 1930s was expressed by a lightening of colour and reduction of volume in his work. In 1937 he obtained a teaching post at the Brera Academy in 1937 and in 1939 he won the Bergamo Prize. Mostly based in Milan, he continued to paint and exhibit after World War II, with frequent stays in Venice and Versilia. Fondazione Cariplo is a charitable foundation in Milan, Italy. It was created in December 1991 when the Amato law, Law no. 218 of 30 July 1990, came into force. Under this law, saving banks were required to separate into a not-for-profit foundation and a commercial banking arm. The Cassa di Risparmio delle Provincie Lombarde, commonly known as Cariplo, was divided into the Fondazione Cariplo and Cariplo SpA, the bank, which merged with Ambroveneto in 1998. As at 31 December 2014, the organisation had a shareholders equity of €6,889,487,562. Versilia
Versilia is a part of Tuscany in the north-western province of Lucca and southern part of Massa-Carrara, and is named after the Versilia river. Known for fashionable Riviera resorts, it consists of numerous clubs that are frequented by local celebrities. Geography The most famous and populated part of this area is Pietrasanta, which extends along the coastline and is at the foot of the Apuan Alps, travelling from South to North, beginning at Stazzema and up to Marina di Massa. Saronno
Saronno (; lmo, Saronn ) is a ''comune'' of Lombardy, Italy, in the province of Varese. It received the honorary title of city with a presidential decree in 1960.
