Frances White (born 1 November 1938, Leeds) is an English actress, perhaps best known for her roles as Kate Hamilton in ''Crossroads'' and as Vera Flood in the BBC sitcom ''May to December''. A graduate of the Central School of Speech and Drama her TV appearances have included ''Juliet Bravo''; '' Trevor's World of Sport''; '' Dangerfield''; ''Holby City''; ''A Very Peculiar Practice''; as Cassandra, prophetess of Troy, in the ''Doctor Who'' story ''The Myth Makers''; as Julia, daughter of Augustus, Emperor of Rome, in ''I, Claudius''; and as Queen Charlotte, wife of George III, in ''Prince Regent''. Leeds () is a city and the administrative centre of the City of Leeds district in West Yorkshire, England. It is built around the River Aire and is in the eastern foothills of the Pennines. Mary Fleming () (1542–fl. 1581) was a Scottish noblewoman and childhood companion and cousin of Mary, Queen of Scots. She and three other ladies-in-waiting (Mary Livingston, Mary Beaton and Mary Seton) were collectively known as "The Four Marys". A granddaughter of James IV of Scotland, she married the queen's renowned secretary, Sir William Maitland of Lethington. ''Press for Time'' is a 1966 British comedy film starring Norman Wisdom. The screenplay was written by Eddie Leslie and Norman Wisdom, based on the 1963 novel ''Yea Yea Yea'', by Angus McGill. It was partly filmed in Teignmouth in Devon. It was the last film Wisdom made for the Rank Organisation. Plot Norman Shields (Norman Wisdom) is a newspaper seller in London, a job organised for him by his grandfather, the Prime Minister (also played by Wisdom).
