Fran Jonas
Frances Cecilia Jonas (born 8 April 2004) is a New Zealand cricketer who plays for Auckland as a slow left-arm orthodox bowler. In February 2021, Jonas earned her maiden call-up to the New Zealand women's cricket team, for their Women's One Day International (WODI) matches against England. Career Jonas is a left-arm orthodox spinner. She started playing cricket at the age of six, and until the age of 10, she played in boy's teams. She has played for Cornwall Cricket Club in Auckland, New Zealand, as well as the New Zealand under-22s indoor cricket team. In December 2019, at the age of 15, Jonas made her debut for Auckland Hearts in the 2019–20 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield. She took three wickets in the Hallyburton Johnstone Shield final, as Auckland Hearts beat Northern Spirit. 2022 Women's Cricket World Cup
The 2022 ICC Women's Cricket World Cup was the twelfth edition of the Women's Cricket World Cup, which was held in New Zealand in March and April 2022. It was originally scheduled for 6 February to 7 March 2021 but was postponed by one year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. On 15 December 2021, the International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that the tournament would start on 4 March 2022, with the final scheduled for 3 April 2022. New Zealand qualified automatically as hosts, with all other qualification places determined by the ICC ODI Rankings. The Australia women's cricket team played against New Zealand women's cricket team in March and April 2021. The tour took place during the time that was originally scheduled to be used to host the 2021 Women's Cricket World Cup. The England women's cricket team represents England and Wales in international women's cricket. The Women's Super Smash, known for sponsorship reasons as the Dream11 Super Smash, is a women's Twenty20 cricket competition organised by New Zealand Cricket. The competition began in 2007–08 and features six teams, who play each other twice in a double round-robin format. 2020–21 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield
The 2020–21 Hallyburton Johnstone Shield was a 50-over women's cricket competition, the fourth season with the name Hallyburton Johnstone Shield, that took place in New Zealand. It ran from November 2020 to March 2021, with 6 provincial teams taking part. Canterbury Magicians beat Auckland Hearts in the final to win the tournament. The tournament ran alongside the 2020–21 Super Smash. Competition format Teams played in a double round-robin in a group of six, therefore playing 10 matches overall. Matches were played using a one day format with 50 overs per side. The top two in the group advanced to the final. The group worked on a points system with positions being based on the total points. The Northern Districts women's cricket team, previously known as Northern Spirit, is the women's representative cricket team of the Northern Districts Cricket Association, based in the northern half of New Zealand's North Island.
