Frameries (; pcd, Framrie; wa, Framriye) is a municipality of Wallonia located in the province of Hainaut, Belgium. The municipality consists of the following districts: Eugies, Frameries, La Bouverie, Noirchain, and Sars-la-Bruyère. Sport Frameries is home to Rugby Union club RC Frameries who currently play in the Belgian Elite League and hosts the finish of the Grand Prix Pino Cerami cycling race. Auguste Toubeau
Auguste Toubeau (21 August 1855 – 26 June 1912) was a Belgian trade unionist and socialist. He began work in a coal mine from an early age. Later, after a serious work accident, he became a prominent figure in the cooperative movement and local government. Early life Toubeau was born into a poor family in the town of Frameries, Belgium, his parents being Jean-François Joseph Toubeau and Désirée Docquier. Like most of the poor children of that period, he started working in the mine in 1865 while only 10 years old. Turn to socialism and trade unionism Toubeau read the early journals published by Louis Bertrand, which convinced him of the socialist cause; he built up a library of piles of these papers. He was a founder member of the Parti Ouvrier. By 1879 he had joined the ''Compagnons'' (an early trade union formation). RC Frameries
RC Frameries is a Belgian rugby union club currently competing in the Belgian Elite League. The club is based in Frameries in Hainaut. The official colours of the club are yellow and black. History The club was founded in 1966 and has never won the Belgian Elite League but did finish as runners up in the 2008/09 season. Their only victory in the Belgian Cup was in 1971. La Chaux-de-Fonds
La Chaux-de-Fonds () is a Swiss city in the canton of Neuchâtel. It is located in the Jura mountains at an altitude of 1000 m, a few kilometers south of the French border. After Geneva, Lausanne and Fribourg, it is the fourth largest city located in the Romandie, the French-speaking part of the country, with a population () of . The city was founded in 1656. Its growth and prosperity is mainly bound up with the watch-making industry. It is the most important centre of the watch-making industry in the area known as the Watch Valley. Partially destroyed by a fire in 1794, La Chaux-de-Fonds was rebuilt following a grid street plan, which was and is still original among Swiss cities, the only exception being the easternmost section of the city, which was spared by the fire. Issy-les-Moulineaux () is a commune in the southwestern suburban area of Paris, France, lying on the left bank of the river Seine. Its citizens are called ''Isséens'' in French. Willmar, Minnesota
Willmar is a city in, and the county seat of, Kandiyohi County, Minnesota, United States. The population was 21,015 at the 2020 census. History Agricultural expansion and the establishment of Willmar as a division point on the Great Northern Railway determined its growth. The first settlers arrived during the 1850s, attracted to the fertile land and an abundance of timber and game. The Dakota War of 1862 left the township abandoned for several years. The advent of the railroad in Kandiyohi County in 1869 brought new settlers. Many were of Swedish and Norwegian origin; residents of Scandinavian heritage are still a majority. Mons
Mons (; German and nl, Bergen, ; Walloon and pcd, Mont) is a city and municipality of Wallonia, and the capital of the province of Hainaut, Belgium. Mons was made into a fortified city by Count Baldwin IV of Hainaut in the 12th century. The population grew quickly, trade flourished, and several commercial buildings were erected near the ''Grand’Place''. In 1814, King William I of the Netherlands increased the fortifications, following the fall of the First French Empire. The Industrial Revolution and coal mining made Mons a centre of heavy industry. In 1830, Belgium gained its independence and the decision was made to dismantle the fortifications, allowing the creation of large boulevards and other urban projects. On 2324 August 1914, Mons was the location of the Battle of Mons.
