Foundation For Excellence
The Foundation for Excellence is a publicly supported non-profit organization. The FFE's focus is to provide funds for higher education to students in India who are academically gifted and from low-income families. Since its inception, the foundation has provided over $11.4 million in over 81,590 scholarships to 28,782 deserving students across 28 states in India. Objective The objective driving the programs is ''"No Scholar Left Behind."'' FFE believes that these young people will be a significant part of a socially and economically stronger India in the near future. With the help of donors and volunteers, FFE plans to keep on with its efforts until every deserving student in India gets the education that she or he deserves. Prabhu Goel
Prabhu Goel (born 1949) is an Indian Americans, Indian American researcher, entrepreneur and businessman, known for having developed the PODEM Automatic test pattern generation and Verilog hardware description language. In 1970 Goel graduated as an electrical engineer from the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, India. He was the President's Gold Medalist of his IIT batch and received a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University, in 1974. In 1973, he joined IBM's EDA organization where he was involved with chip test automation. At IBM he developed the PODEM algorithm. Kanwal Singh Rekhi (born August 29, 1945) ( Punjabi : ਕੰਵਲ ਰੇਖੀ) is an Indian-American businessperson. He was the first Indian-American founder and CEO to take a venture-backed company public on the Nasdaq stock exchange. Career Rekhi had worked as an engineer, systems analyst, and manager before venturing into entrepreneurship. At the age of 36, he moved to San Jose, California and co-founded Excelan in 1982, a manufacturer of smart Ethernet components, and was named president and CEO in 1985.
