Fotios Lampropoulos
Fotios Lampropoulos (alternatively spelled: Fotis, Lambropoulos or Labropoulos; gr, Φώτης Λαμπρόπουλος), born 11 September 1983, is a Greek professional basketball player for Þór Þorlákshöfn of the Úrvalsdeild karla. He is a 2.06 m (6 ft 9 in) tall power forward-center. Professional career Lampropoulos started his playing career with his home town side, Apolloniada Patras, moving up from the club's youth ranks - where he won a Greek junior league MVP title - to the first team in 2003, to play in the Greek C1 League (amateur Greek fourth division). He then transferred to the Spanish fourth division Liga EBA side, Romauto Mataró, in January 2004. His performances with Mataró caught the eye of the Spanish first division club CB Gran Canaria, who invited him to a summer league, before signing him. Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup
The Icelandic Men's Basketball Cup (Icelandic: Bikarkeppni KKÍ), also known as VÍS bikarinn for sponsorship reasons, is an annual professional basketball competition between clubs in Iceland. It is Iceland's first-tier cup competition, and is not to be confused with Iceland's former second-tier cup competition, the Company Cup. History and format The first edition of the Icelandic Cup championship took place in 1965, and was won by Ármann. In 1968 and 1969, the cup competition was not held, but it has been held regularly every year from 1970 onward. Teams in Úrvalsdeild karla and Division I have an automatic bye to the Final 32 while lower league teams might have to play preliminary rounds for a place, depending on the number of teams. The Liga Española de Baloncesto, also known as LEB Oro, is the second basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system after the Liga ACB. It is run by the FEB. The Liga Española de Baloncesto is divided into two categories (the other one is the LEB Plata). The LEB league was founded in 1996 and is played under FIBA rules. It was renamed LEB Oro in 2007. The league is contested by 18 clubs. Each season, the top-finishing team in the LEB Oro are automatically promoted to the Liga ACB. The Njarðvík men's basketball team, commonly known as Njarðvík or UMFN, is the men's basketball department of Ungmennafélag Njarðvíkur, based in the town of Reykjanesbær in Iceland.
