Fort Bowie (film)
''Fort Bowie'' is a 1958 American Western film directed by Howard W. Koch and written by Maurice Tombragel. The film stars Ben Johnson, Jan Harrison, Kent Taylor, Maureen Hingert, Peter Mamakos and Larry Chance. The film was released on February 1, 1958, by United Artists. Plot When another officer's ruthless and cruel killings of Indians leaves him convinced a counterattack is inevitable, Captain "Tomahawk" Thompson reports his conclusion to Colonel Garrett, his commanding officer. Garrett assigns a task to Thompson, safely escorting the colonel's wife, Alison, back to Fort Bowie. Alison attempts to seduce Thompson along the way. Rejected and irate, she lies to her husband that she and Thompson became lovers. Garrett immediately gives Thompson a suicide mission of riding into Indian territory and attempting to make peace. Aubrey Schenck (August 26, 1908, New York City – April 14, 1999, Murrieta, California) was an American film producer from the 1940s through the 1970s. Biography The son of George Schenck, a Russian immigrant theatrical manager, and Mary Schenck, Schenck was a nephew of Joseph and Nicholas Schenck. Father to George Schenck and grandfather to Kirk Schenck. He graduated from Boys High School and Cornell University, and was a practicing attorney in New York City. Among Schenck's clients was 20th Century Fox that led him to be a personal assistant to Spyros Skouras. When Schenck submitted a script for a film, Schenck told Skouras he'd prefer to produce the film himself rather than be paid a fee. The film, '' Shock!''
