Forrester RFC
Forrester RFC is a rugby union football club in the Scottish Rugby Union, located at South Gyle Access in Edinburgh. They play in the , one of three Scottish Regional Leagues operated by the Scottish Rugby Union. History Forrester Former Pupils Rugby Football Club and Sports Association was founded in 1964 by ex-pupils of Forrester High School. Most school rugby players joined Corstorphine Rugby Club because there was nowhere else to go but two remarkable English teachers: Fred Langstaff (English Teacher) and Peter Blyth (English Teacher) decided that there were enough good former pupils to start an FP club. Drew Elliott and his younger brother Kenny Elliott were the first to be inveigled along with not a few good rugby players. The Scottish Rugby Union (SRU; gd, Aonadh Rugbaidh na h-Alba) is the governing body of rugby union in Scotland. Scottish Regional Leagues
The Scottish Regional Leagues are the lowest levels of the Scottish rugby union system. They consist of three regions: * West Regional Leagues * East Regional Leagues * Caledonia Regional Leagues Unlike the Premiership, National League and parts of the League Championship, which were formed in 1973 and have remained roughly the same since, the Regional Leagues have grown over time, in a process which saw the old District Leagues amalgamated into the national structure. Up to and including season 2006–07, some divisions operated pools (where the division was split in two, with pre-Christmas and post-Christmas mini-groups) but from season 2007–08 all the divisions will be standard all-play-all formats of between 10 and 12 clubs. Forrester High School is a secondary school in the west of Edinburgh, Scotland. St Augustine's High School, an RC secondary, moved onto a shared campus with Forrester High School in January 2010. Previously the schools had been next to each other. Boroughmuir RFC
Boroughmuir RFC is a rugby union football club in the Scottish Rugby Union. The club's home ground is Meggetland, in southwest Edinburgh and the club plays in the , where they are known as the Boroughmuir Bears. Founded in 1919 and admitted to the SRU in 1939, it was originally restricted to former pupils of Boroughmuir High School. The badge is derived from Boroughmuir High School and they acquired it in 1913. Although it has lost that direct connection, the home ground and navy blue/emerald colours are unchanged. The club won the Scottish unofficial club rugby championship in the 1954–55 and 1972–73 seasons. The club have the second longest number of seasons in the top division having only been relegated twice and on both occasions bouncing straight back up to the top division. The record is held by Heriots FP who have never been relegated. Boroughmuir became the first team to win the Scottish Cup "back to back" in 2001, and the first team to win it three times in 2015. ... Stobswell RFC
Stobswell RFC is a rugby union club based in Dundee, Scotland. The Men's team currently plays in . History The club was founded in 1963 and grew out of the environs of Stobswell Junior Secondary School in Dundee. Teachers, pupils and former pupils combined to start the club. The club was then known as Stobswell Former Players (Stobswell F.P.) Originally the club played at Caird Park. The Stobswell club merged with Dundee NCR at the start of the 1970s. The club won the Midlands District League in 1976 and was promoted to the National League Division 7. They were promoted to National League Division 6 for 1981-82 and played there until 1985–86, after which they were relegated back to Division 7. They were relegated back to the Midlands District League after 1989–90. The club has links with a Welsh club Treherbert RFC and they have an ongoing bi-annual visit between the two clubs. Samuel Hidalgo-Clyne (born 4 August 1993) is a Scottish rugby union player who plays for Benetton Rugby in United Rugby Championship. His primary position is as a scrum-half. Early life Born in Jayena, Granada, Spain, Hidalgo-Clyne moved to Edinburgh at the age of three. He began playing rugby at primary school for Forrester RFC and continued there when he started his secondary schooling at the Royal High School. Having gained a scholarship, he attended Merchiston Castle School where he played as a stand-off before being selected as a scrum-half. Club career Hidalgo-Clyne specialised in international sevens for the 2011–12 season and joined Edinburgh's elite development roster in the summer of 2012.
