A name in the Italian language consists of a given name ( it, nome), and a surname (); in most contexts, the given name is written before the surname. Efrem Forni
Efrem Leone Pio Forni (10 January 1889 – 26 February 1976) was an Italian Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Nuncio to Belgium and Internuncio to Luxembourg from 1953 to 1962, and was elevated to the Cardinalate in 1962. Biography Born in Milan, the second son of Don Enrico Giancarlo Forni and Donna Angela Ambrosoli, Efrem Leone Pio Forni studied at the University of Milan, and the Pontifical Gregorian University and Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in Rome. He was ordained to the priesthood on 6 July 1913, and then taught at the archiepiscopal college of Cantù and at the college of d' Arona until 1921. Msgr. Forni was secretary (1921-1926) and later auditor (1926-1928) of the Portuguese nunciature. In the French nunciature, he was auditor (1928) and counselor (1937). After graduating from the University of Bologna in 1989, he obtained his PhD in 1993 from Princeton University, under the supervision of John Mather. Giuseppe Forni
Giuseppe Forni is a paralympic athlete from Switzerland competing mainly in category T51 racing events. Giuseepe was a fixture at four Paralympics, competing in multiple events in each games and winning medals at all four of the games however he never won a gold medal. His first games were in 1988 Summer Paralympics where he competed in every individual track event from 100m to 1500m and the 4 × 100 m winning a bronze medal in the 200m. In 1992 he extended his range from 100m to marathon and the relay but did not compete in the 200m here he gained bronze medals in the relay, 100m, 1500m and Marathon and a silver in the 200m. Raffaele Forni
Raffaele Forni (24 May 1906 – 29 September 1990) was a Swiss prelate of the Catholic Church who worked in the diplomatic service of the Holy See. He held the title of archbishop from 1953 and served a nuncio to Iran, Venezuela, Uruguay, and Syria. Biography Raffaele Forni was born to Giuseppe and Emilia Forni on 24 May 1906 in Villa Bedretto, Canton of Ticino, Switzerland. He studied at the lycée in Lugano and earned degrees in philosophy at the Catholic University of Milan and in theology in Fribourg. He was ordained a priest on 29 July 1934 and then taught at the seminary in Lugano and worked at the Catholic University of Milan. In preparation for a career in the diplomatic service, he entered the Pontifical Ecclesiastical Academy in 1937. He entered the diplomatic service of the Holy See in 1938. Raymond Forni (20 May 1941 – 5 January 2008) was a French Socialist politician. Biography The son of an Italian immigrant from Piedmont, Forni was born in Belfort, in 1941. His father died when he was 11. At 17, he had to stop studying, and he started to work as an unskilled worker in Peugeot factories. He finally graduated from high school at 21 and started law studies at the University of Strasbourg. He became a lawyer at the age of 27 years. Member of the Socialist Party, his political career started in 1971 when he became municipal council. In 1973, he was elected as deputy of Territoire de Belfort ''département''. He got reelected four times consecutively, until 2002. He was President of the National Assembly from 2000 to 2002. He was president of the Franche-Comté regional council from 2 April 2004, until his death. He died in Paris on 5 January 2008, at the age of 66, of leukaemia.
