Giuseppe Forni
Giuseppe Forni is a paralympic athlete from Switzerland competing mainly in category T51 racing events. Giuseepe was a fixture at four Paralympics, competing in multiple events in each games and winning medals at all four of the games however he never won a gold medal. His first games were in 1988 Summer Paralympics where he competed in every individual track event from 100m to 1500m and the 4 × 100 m winning a bronze medal in the 200m. In 1992 he extended his range from 100m to marathon and the relay but did not compete in the 200m here he gained bronze medals in the relay, 100m, 1500m and Marathon and a silver in the 200m. Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills. The name is derived from where the sport takes place, a running track and a grass field for the throwing and some of the jumping events. The International Paralympic Committee (IPC; german: Internationales Paralympisches Komitee) is an international non-profit organisation and the global governing body for the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Paralympic Games and functions as the international federation for nine sports. Founded on 22 September 1989 in Düsseldorf, West Germany, its mission is to "enable Paralympic athletes to achieve sporting excellence and inspire and excite the world".
