Formula Pilota China
Formula Masters China, FMCS () (previously known as Formula Pilota China), was a single-seater racing series based in Asia. The series was created in 2011 after the success of the Formula Abarth championship that was created a year before. Event schedule Each event in the championship is normally run to a three-day schedule. It comprises two free practice sessions on the first day, one qualifying session and 45–55 km or 25-minute race on the second day, and a 45–55 km or 25-minute race on the third day. The grid for the second race is determined by the fastest lap in the first race; if drivers set equal times, priority will be given to driver who set the time first. Circuits Events have been held predominantly on Chinese circuits at Guangdong, Ordos International Circuit, Shanghai, and Shanghai Tianma, as well as Sepang and Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia. 2011 Formula Pilota China Season
The 2011 Formula Pilota China season is the first season of the newly created Formula Pilota China series, which ran on regulations based on Formula Abarth. The championship began on 3 July at Guangdong and was finished on 27 November at Sepang after twelve races held at six meetings. Also series had non-championship round that held on 3 December at Sepang. 9 teams fielded 26 drivers during the whole tour. Swiss-French driver, who participated under Czech racing license Mathéo Tuscher became the first Formula Pilota China Champion with 189 points after scoring nine podium finishes from twelve races with eight wins. His nearest competitor, Luis Sá Silva, took two wins during the whole season and managed second overall with 124 points. Matthew Barry Solomon (born 19 February 1996) is a Hong Kong racing driver. Career Solomon began his motorsport career in kart racing in 2007, where he remained active until 2012. James Munro (born 20 January 1997 in Christchurch, New Zealand) is a New Zealand former racing driver. Munro won championships in junior formulae such as Formula Ford and Formula Pilota China. The 2014 Formula Masters China season was the fourth season of the Formula Pilota China series, and the second under the Formula Masters China branding. The championship commenced on 10 May at Zhuhai in China and finished on 21 October at Shanghai in China after eighteen races held at six meetings. Driving for Cebu Pacific Air by KCMG, James Munro of New Zealand finished the season as the drivers' champion, finishing 28 points clear of his closest rival, Hong Kong's Matthew Solomon, driving for Eurasia Motorsport. Munro started the season strongly, taking six successive wins at the first Zhuhai meeting and the first Shanghai meeting, as well as the opening race at Inje Speedium. Career Karting He competed in 11 Senior Rotax kart races in the South of the United Kingdom - setting a fastest lap in a field of 24 in his first ever race at Clay Pigeon.
