Formans
The Formans () is a small river in eastern France,. It rises in the Dombes plateau in the Ain department and the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It flows into the Saône between Saint-Bernard and Trévoux. It is long. Communes traversed The Formans, like its main tributary, the Morbier is a watercourse which links the ponds of the Dombes plateau with the Saône valley. It is fed by many bodies of water situated in Savigneux, Saint-Jean-de-Thurigneux and Ambérieux-en-Dombes at an altitude of 300m, which is the high point of its drainage basin. The Morbier in turn has its origin in ponds situated within the communes of Civieux bordering Saint-André-de-Corcy. The Formans takes several names (ruisseau de la Pierre, ruisseau de l'Orme), collects other tributaries, and passes through Ars-sur-Formans and Misérieux, reaching its confluence with the Morbier at Sainte-Euphémie. Ars-sur-Formans
Ars-sur-Formans is a commune in the Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. Geography The village is in the south-western part of the Ain department 33 km north of Lyon and 10 km east of Villefranche-sur-Saône in the heart of the Dombes region - known for its many lagoons. Ars-sur-Formans is on the Dombes plateau while to the west it borders the fertile hills of the Val de Saône. A small river, the Formans, runs from east to west across the commune just south of the village to join the Saône river near Saint-Bernard. The commune covers . The D44 road from Savigneux west to Beauregard forms much of the northern border of the commune. Access to the village is by road D904 going west from Savigneux and continuing to join the D934 west of the commune. The road D888 also runs south-east of the village to Rancé. Ambérieux-en-Dombes
Ambérieux-en-Dombes (, literally ''Ambérieux in Dombes'') is a commune in the department of Ain in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of eastern France. The inhabitants of the commune are known as ''Ambarrois'' or ''Ambarroises'' Geography As its name suggests, ''Ambérieux-en-Dombes'' is a part of the Dombes country in Ain. It is located some 10 km east of Villefranche-sur-Saone and 35 km north of Lyon. There are several access roads to the commune: the D904 comes from Savigneux in the west through the heart of the commune and the town and continues east to Lapeyrouse; the D66 road from Saint-Trivier-sur-Moignans in the north passes through the town and continues south to Saint-Jean-de-Thurigneux; the D660 comes from Rancé in the south-west to the town; and the D82 comes from Monthieux in the south-east and continues to Chatillon-sur-Chalaronne in the north-east. Saône

It is a right tributary of the Rhône, rising at Vioménil in the Vosges department and joining the Rhône in Lyon, at the southern end of the Presqu'île.
