Forfun
Forfun was a Brazilian alternative rock band which reached the peak of its popularity in the mid- to late 2000s. Formed in Rio de Janeiro in 2001, their initial line-up comprised vocalist/guitarist Danilo Cutrim, bassist Vítor Isensee and drummer Bruno Tizé. By 2002, Tizé left the band and was replaced by Nicholas Christ, while Isensee switched his position with Rodrigo Costa to become second guitarist. Their first shows were frequently attended by the sons of then- Deputy (and future President) Jair Bolsonaro, Eduardo and Carlos, who were personal friends of the bandmembers; Eduardo would later cameo in the music video for "História de Verão". They released in 2003 the demo album ''Das Pistas de Skate às Pistas de Dança'', which was a significative underground hit, and in 2005 their official debut, ''Teoria Dinâmica Gastativa'', produced by Liminha, came out through Universal Music Group. Following the release of ''Polisenso'' (2008) and ''Alegria Compartilhada'' (2011), ...

Dibob
Dibob is a Brazilian pop punk band from Rio de Janeiro, popular throughout the mid- to late 2000s and famous for their humorous songs. Formed in 2001 by friends Miguel, Gesta, Faucom and Dedeco, they initially began the project just to "amuse themselves"; their name, "Dibob", is a contraction of the Portuguese-language expression "de bobeira", meaning "goofing off". Their debut EP ''Markebra'' was self-released in 2003, after which the critically acclaimed full-length albums ''O Fantástico Mundo Dibob'' (2004) and ''A Ópera do Cafajeste'' (2007) followed. For the release of the latter, a huge show at the now-defunct music venue Canecão was organized. In the 2005 edition of the MTV Video Music Brazil award, they performed a cover of Ultraje a Rigor's "Nós Vamos Invadir Sua Praia" alongside Leela, Ramirez and Forfun, with whom they would develop a strong friendship. In 2012 they collaborated on the song "Rio Porque Tô no Rio", described as an ode to Rio de Janeiro. In 2009, v ...

It awarded the best in Brazilian music, popular culture and internet culture in the year of 2011. For this edition, the concept has undergone a major makeover; after the happy rock band Restart winning all the 5 categories in which it was indicated in the previous edition by its large number of fans voting exaggeratedly (including Act of the Year), and not by its merit; and also the renewal of the station's programming in 2011, which favored even more the music. Under the awards theme "A música não para" (''The music never stops''), this VMB went to have a 100-member expert jury - the VMB Academy - to choose seven of the 11 awards; three new categories: Best Album, Best Album Art and Best Music; and the indication of many independent artists, like Emicida, Marcelo Jeneci and Criolo, valuing the musical production. ...

The 2009 VMB had over 20 categories, the largest number in the history of the show; therefore, part of the awards were delivered in a special show named "VMB Antes" ("VMB Before"), presented some hours before the main event, including small performances by the 2009 VMB Dream Band winners (the last year where the Dream Band category was maintained; in 2010 the category was extinguished) and winners in other categories. MTV Video Music Brazil
The MTV Video Music Brazil awards (originally Video Music Awards Brazil), more commonly known as VMB, were MTV Brasil's annual award ceremony, established in 1995. MTV viewers picked the winners for most categories since 2001. Unlike in the MTV Video Music Awards, the most important category at the MTV Video Music Brazil was the Viewer's Choice, not the Video of the Year; both of these categories merged in 2005. In 2007, the awards have faced a major rebranding, with several categories extinguished (most notably the specific genre divisions) and even the trophies' design changed. From that year, the awards began to focus more on artists rather than music videos and the most important category became the Artist of the Year. However, the Video of the Year award continued to exist. In 2013, due to the closure of MTV Brasil's operations, the ceremony was cancelled. In 2014, the second Brazilian version of MTV considered reviving the awards, but the plans were eventually discontinued ...

Ultraje A Rigor
Ultraje a Rigor is a Brazilian rock band, which formed in 1980 and experienced great success along with other famous Brazilian rock bands from that time, like Titãs, Os Paralamas do Sucesso, Legião Urbana, and many others, mostly during the 1980s. History Early years Ultraje a Rigor began its performances as a cover band - mostly playing songs of The Beatles, punk rock and new wave songs. The final and official line-up of Roger, Leôspa, Sílvio and Edgard began doing shows at parties and small bars. In 1982, still without an official name, they decided on Ultraje a Rigor. The name referred to the band's irreverence toward the songs they covered, frequently satirizing or distorting them. So, the band's name is a pun with the words "traje a rigor" (a ceremonial suit) and "ultraje" (outrage). Soon, Silvio left the band and was replaced by Maurício. In April 1983, the new formation took part in the Theater Lira Paulistana's Boca no Trombone project, the band's first show feat ...
