2011 MTV Video Music Brazil
The 2011 MTV Video Music Brazil, known as VMB 2011 in Brazil, was held on October 20, 2011, hosted by Marcelo Adnet and took place at the Quanta Studios, São Paulo. It awarded the best in Brazilian music, popular culture and internet culture in the year of 2011. For this edition, the concept has undergone a major makeover; after the happy rock band Restart winning all the 5 categories in which it was indicated in the previous edition by its large number of fans voting exaggeratedly (including Act of the Year), and not by its merit; and also the renewal of the station's programming in 2011, which favored even more the music. Under the awards theme "A música não para" (''The music never stops''), this VMB went to have a 100-member expert jury - the VMB Academy - to choose seven of the 11 awards; three new categories: Best Album, Best Album Art and Best Music; and the indication of many independent artists, like Emicida, Marcelo Jeneci and Criolo, valuing the musical production. ...

Marcelo Adnet
Marcelo França Adnet (born September 5, 1981, in Rio de Janeiro) is a Brazilian actor, comedian and former VJ. He has been on many TV shows such as ''Adnet viaja'' ("Adnet travels") (2012), ''Adnet ao vivo'' ("Adnet live") (2011) and ''Comédia MTV'' ("MTV Comedy") (2010-2012). He was named by ''Época'' Magazine one of the 100 most influential Brazilians in 2009. Adnet holds a degree in journalism at PUC-Rio, but his career as a comedian began while in college when a friend, the actor Fernando Caruso, invited him to make an improvisation play, ''Z.E. Zenas Emprovisadas'', which debuted in 2003 and its last season was in 2012. He stands out for the imitations he often creates around famous personalities. Marcelo de Souza Camelo (Rio de Janeiro, February 4, 1978) is a Brazilian composer, singer, guitarist, and poet. He is best known as composer and lead guitarist of the Brazilian band Los Hermanos. CSS (an initialism of Cansei de Ser Sexy) (, in São Paulo, English lit. "Tired of being sexy") is a Brazilian rock band from São Paulo. The band was labeled as part of the explosion of the new rave scene. Their songs are in both English and Portuguese. History 2003–06: Formation and ''Cansei de Ser Sexy'' (Brazilian album) CSS formed in September 2003, consisting of a group of friends. Their name was taken from a reported quote by Beyoncé, who allegedly declared that she was "tired of being sexy". The band first garnered fame through the internet. Cavalera Conspiracy is an American heavy metal supergroup founded by Brazilian brothers Max (vocals, rhythm guitar) and Igor Cavalera (drums, percussion). The band originally formed in 2007 as Inflikted but changed its name for legal reasons. The group's creation marked the end of a 10-year feud between the Cavalera brothers who founded Sepultura in the early 1980s. Following the brothers' falling out, Max Cavalera had formed a new band, Soulfly, and Igor had recorded four studio albums with Sepultura before leaving the band in January 2006. Marina Lima
Marina Correia Lima (, born September 17, 1955) is a Brazilian singer and songwriter. She is a prominent female pioneer of Brazilian rock music. Career Marina Lima began composing songs at age 17, and first achieved major success with the 1984 album '' Fullgás'', which included the hit singles "Fullgás", "Me Chama" (written by Lobão), "Veneno" and "Mesmo que Seja Eu" (an Erasmo Carlos cover). Móveis Coloniais de Acaju (usually referred to as simply Móveis; ) are a Brazilian-based band comprising ten members, including singer André Gonzáles, keyboardist Eduardo Borém, and bassist Fabio Pedroza. The band's name literally translated means "colonial mahogany wood-made furniture". The Acaju Rebellion According to Fabrício Ofuji, the name of the band is an homage to a fictitious rebellion that supposedly happened when English troops invaded Bananal Island, in the Northern Region of Brazil. English troops invaded and settled down on the island, where they started making furniture out of ''Cedrela odorata'', commonly known as “Acaju”.
