Forever Group is a Burmese private media broadcasting company, with headquarters in Yangon, Myanmar. Forever Group is known for its close ties to the Burmese military. History Forever Group was founded in 1996 in Myanmar by Win Maw, a former sailor who established the company to import and distribute computer and computer components. In 2004, it launched a national free-to-air television channel, MRTV-4, as a joint venture with Myanmar's Ministry of Information and state-owned Myanmar Radio and Television. The joint venture was intended to become a pro-military outlet to counter local and foreign independent media. In 2008, it launched Mandalay FM, a radio station. In 2016, it partnered with Thaicom to boost HDTV coverage on a Thai satellite. In 2018, French-owned CANAL+ and Forever Group launched Canal+ (Myanmar) in the Burmese market. The Defence Services Academy ( my, စစ်တက္ကသိုလ်, ) located in Pyin Oo Lwin, is the premier military service academy of Myanmar, training future officers for all three branches of Myanmar military. The Ministry of Defence administered academy offers bachelor's degree programs in liberal arts, combined physical sciences, and computer science. DSA has conferred basic degrees on 33,065 graduates from the first graduation ceremony up to the 62nd graduation in December 2021. A coup d'état in Myanmar began on the morning of 1 February 2021, when democratically elected members of the country's ruling party, the National League for Democracy (NLD), were deposed by the Tatmadaw—Myanmar's military—which then vested power in a military junta. ''Dancing with the Stars Myanmar'' is a Burmese dance competition television series that premiered on October 27, 2019, on MRTV-4. It was based on the format of the British TV series ''Strictly Come Dancing''. The show is hosted by Kaung Htet Zaw, alongside La Won Htet. The format of the show consists of a celebrity paired with a professional dancer. Each couple performs predetermined dances and competes against the others for judges' points and audience votes. The couple receiving the lowest combined total of judges' points and audience votes is eliminated each week until only the champion dance pair remains. Canal+ (current Forever Group in Myanmar and Canal+ Group in France. Originally launched by Forever Group alone, Canal+ Group joined in the business in 2017, and the service adopted the current name in April 2021. Canal+ delivers the service through the digital terrestrial television (DTT) signals (available in Yangon and Mandalay) and direct-to-home (DTH) satellite television signals (beamed through Thaicom 6). It launched a Burmese version of My Canal OTT television service in 2019. There are 80 television channels, including nine in-house television channels, available on the platform. Canal+ (Canal Plus, , meaning 'Channel Plus'; sometimes abbreviated C+ or Canal) is a French premium television channel launched in 1984. It is 100% owned by the Groupe Canal+, which in turn is owned by Vivendi. The channel broadcasts several kinds of programming, mostly encrypted.
