The Football South Australia (FSA), formerly known as Football Federation South Australia (FFSA), is the governing body of football (also known as soccer) in South Australia, established in 2006. Description Football South Australia are affiliated with Football Australia, the sport's national governing body. The FSA run the highest level of football in the state of South Australia, the semi-professional National Premier Leagues South Australia, below this they run State League 1 and State League 2 which are level 2 and 3 on the state's football league pyramid, and levels 3 and 4 on the national pyramid. The FSA run the South Australian Professional Men's Leagues, the Women's and Juniors Leagues, and the South Australian Junior Premier League (JPL), where teams from under 8s to under 17s play Sundays. Thebarton, South Australia
Thebarton ( ), formerly Theberton, on Kaurna land, is an inner-western suburb of Adelaide, South Australia in the City of West Torrens. The suburb is bounded by the River Torrens to the north, Port Road and Bonython Park to the east, Kintore Street to the south, and South Road to the west. Many buildings and landmarks that bear the name of Thebarton were in the history municipality, the Town of Thebarton, which included most of the adjoining suburb of Torrensville. Adelaide City Football Club is a soccer club based in Adelaide, South Australia. The club was known historically as Juventus — the original name given to the club by its founders in Adelaide's Italian community. Adelaide City is one of Australia's most decorated sides, having been crowned national champion three times. West Adelaide Soccer Club is an Australian soccer club currently playing in the South Australian State League 1. Traditionally named Hellas, the club was founded by members of the Greek community of Adelaide. West Adelaide became a founding member of the National Soccer League in 1977 and a year later became the first Adelaide team to be crowned national champion when it won the 1978 National Soccer League after a 1–1 draw in the final round match with Adelaide City in the local derby. Sturt Lions Soccer Club is an Australian professional football club in Adelaide, South Australia. Nicknamed the Lions, Sturt are associated with FFSA, and they currently play in the NPL South Australia. The league is a first tier-league in South Australia and second-tier nationally. The club, while based in the suburbs in and around the city of Mitcham, they currently play their senior home games at Adelaide Shores Football Centre in West Beach. The club has one of the largest junior programs in South Australia.
