Myron Fernandes
Myron Fernandes (born 2 May 1993) is an Indian professional footballer who plays as a forward for Dempo S.C. in the I-League. Career Youth Born in Mapusa, Goa, Fernandes started to play football from the age of nine years. Early on, Myron was trained by then Churchill Brothers S.C. player, Sebastian D’Costa, who was also his uncle. In school Myron played for the U14 side for St. Britto's High School at the age of 11. Later Myron was selected to train at the Goa United Sports Academy under the coaching of Agostinho Dias. Then, at the age of only 15, Fernandes was signed by Benny XI to play for the club's senior side in the Goa First Division which is only a level below the Goa Professional League, the top-tier league in Goa. The 2014 Lusophone Games was the 3rd edition of the Lusophone Games, a multi-sport event that represent athletes from Portuguese-speaking countries and territories. It was held from 18 to 29 January 2014 in the Indian state of Goa. Brazil and Sri Lanka also put in bids to stage the event. Participating delegations represented every Portuguese-speaking National Olympic Committee and other countries with historic ties to Portugal. The Chairman for these Games was Manohar Parrikar, the chief minister of Goa and the Chief Executive Officer was Keshav Chandra IAS, Secretary to the Government of Goa for Sports and Education. The Games were originally planned to be held in 2013, but was postponed and moved to the January 2014 dates. Since Goa was elected to host the games, Brazil chose not to send their athletes because of the ¨huge postponement¨ of the competition. Lusophony Games
The Lusofonia Games ( pt, Jogos da Lusofonia) is a multinational multi-sport event organized by the ACOLOP, which involves athletes coming from Lusophone (Portuguese-speaking) countries. Most countries competing are countries that are members of the CPLP (Community of Portuguese Language Countries), but some are countries with significant Portuguese communities or have a history with Portugal. Participating countries are founding members Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Macau ( Chinese SAR), Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe, and associate members Equatorial Guinea, India and Sri Lanka. In addition, Ghana, Flores (an island of Indonesia), Mauritius and Morocco have also expressed the desire to participate in future events. ACOLOP (acronym for ; en, Association of the Portuguese Speaking Olympic Committees), is an Olympic-related non-profit organization officially established on June 8, 2004, in Lisbon and has been approved by International Olympic Committee. It was founded by the national Olympic committees (NOCs) of Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Macau ( Chinese SAR), Mozambique, Portugal and São Tomé and Príncipe; it also includes Equatorial Guinea as an associate member. Margao
